Re: Looking to buy Xterra [gruson] by chukar1 on Fri Jun 26 22:22:57 PDT 2009

Bought our xterra (off road) 2009 at the end of march for invoice (consumer's report invoice matched) then the $2000 rebate. Don't forget you get taxed on the $2000, whatever your sales tax is. We had a tough time finding the Off road model and I called dealers from Colorado, UT, MT and OR and finally found one within 200 miles of our home. We LOVE IT. The Nissan dealer we went thru (internet thru edmunds) was a breeze to deal with. My husband said when he picked it up it was 20 mins tops of paperwork and all the numbers matched what we had agreed up. Good luck.

Looked at the Rogue last Friday while waiting on my Civic for the mysterious oil puddle. Very nice "cute ute" and seems to be a bit smaller than the CR-V. The dash layout is very contemporary and the seats were comfortable and gave a nice commanding view of the road ahead. Back seating area was a bit smallish but since this ute is based on the Sentra platform, can't fault it on that. Prices seem to also be a bit lower than the CR-V and if it can come with a CVT tranny like the Sentra, I think Nissan has a winner on it's hands. Did see that nice blue color and it the bright sun it was awesome looking. Starting to like the Rogue better than the CR-V now and if I had a need for a small ute, I'd seriously consider it. And Marco, I do understand your passion for cars...had it since I was a small child. So keep on posting in Edmunds and don't listen to the few that ridicule you...they aren't worth it...just ignore them as most of the other posters do! The Sandman :)

Re: 2009 Murano LE - Nissan of Chantilly, VA in DC Area [poohsavybear] by belusch on Tue Apr 15 17:20:21 PDT 2008

I think many of these deals we are reading about happened at the end of last month and at the end of the Nissan Anniversary Sale which ended 3/31. The end of the month is always the best time other than Christmas. A dealer could sell their car and give everything away including the holdback knowing that you couldn't touch the incentives they were going to receive from Nissan for selling a certain number of vehicles. Many in my area, Salt Lake City, UT were offering the 09 Murano under invoice. My final OTD price calculated out to a 3% holdback, but I didn't see the actual invoice, so I am more inclined to believe the 2% holdback as a general rule from a previous post since they were able to see the paperwork. In any case, some people have gotten some great deals and I have learned alot from this forum. The deals are out there, you just have to make them happen and sometimes be a little patient!!

Re: 2008 Pathfinder SE-V6 in SLC, UT [jtwright] by chuckisc on Fri Dec 14 04:23:55 PST 2007

MSRP= $37,825.00 Invoice= $34,744.00 Holdback= $756.50 Rebate= $1,750.00 Market Support= $635.00 True Invoice(Invoice - Rebate - Holdback - Market Support) $31,602.50 Tax % tags $32,402.50 Tax tags(% x true invoice)+(tags=$100est) 6.00% 100 $2,044.15 low ball(true invoice - 2k + tax)= $31,646.65 Target Price(MSRP - rebate or Sale price - Low ball offer / 2 + low ball offer) $33,860.83 OTD price!!!!!! This is the "target" or "MAXIMUM" top price I would pay for this vehicle and consider it's a FAIR price for the dealer where he can make a few hundred dollars profit but not much. Give him the low ball pricing now and see what he can come up with. Dealer always try to push you into the top tier pricing... Good luck and I believe you make a fine choice with the 08' Pathy!
