Buying a car from a Mazda Car Dealer
I am very close to purchasing a new 5 here in SC. I have a malibu maxx and our family wanted a third row of seats. The car seems very peppy for a 4 cyl. I wish that it came with tinted windows. I will probably get that done. Have you been pleased with your 5? I am also wondering how easy the seats are to clean as they are very light beige.
I just purchased a 2009 Mazda5 Sport, no options at all in Easley, SC for $18,477 inc tax, title, tags. When I mentioned I wanted the 0% financing for 36 months they said that would increase the sales price so I said forget it. I plan on paying off by the end of March or April 2009 so the 0% financing wasn't important to me. I don't recall how much 0% financing would have increased the price. I traded in a 2002 Saturn L-100 with 61.5K miles on it for $3800. I felt like I got took a bit there. I felt $4K was more appropriate but they said they go by Black Book Values, not Blue Book, Edmunds or NADA...it always seems to be some one else they base their offer on. Fortunately their final offer on the Mazda5 was a couple hundred dollars lower than what I thought they would settle on so I figured the lower Mazda5 offer made up for the trade-in offer. I also put down $4500 and will be clamping down on all expenses until I get it paid off. Not going out to eat gives the wife an incentive to agree to hurry up and pay it off so we can resume that activity again. I did a lot of searching and I think getting a Mazda5 out the door for $17K might be optimistic unless they come up with some rebates next month but given the sales for the Mazda5 are on of the few vehicles that have increased I don't think there is much of a chance of rebates being offered for the 5. Good luck
What dealer in Ga if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking into buying a CX-7 but have not decided on a package yet. So far the best deal I've gotten offered is on a Sport in SC for walkout total of $4000 below MSRP
Taken directly from the lease agreement: Monthly payments: 356.67 Total monthly payments are 8821.44 over 24 months 12000 miles a year 2500 down Initial value of the vehicle of the car was 21063.00 and the gross capitalized cost is 21658.00 Capitalized cost reduction: 1493.94 Adjusted capitalized cost: 20164.06 Residual value: 13919.25 Depreciation and any amortized amounts: 6244.81 Rent charge: 2576.63 Total of base payments: 8821.44 Lease payments: 24 Base payment: 367.56 She has a 773 credit score so it doesn't make sense the payments would be $100 more than what Mazda credit advertises. The titling issue is complicated. She's from Ohio and recently moved to SC where I'm located after graduating college. She wants to remain with her parents insurance for lower monthly payments and in doing so wants to title the car in Ohio because of the hassle of getting new insurance, a new license, etc etc. The dealer wants her to title it in SC because they have a flat tax rate for vehicles capped at $300. Titling the car in Ohio means she pays Ohio taxes. Since that issue has yet to be resolved, it is my understanding the car has not yet been titled. Thanks for the insight.
My wife test drove an 05 Escape and fell in love with it, but more so with a loaded 05 Mariner Premier. I drove the same Escape, Mariner and also the 04 Tribute. I was less impressed with the ride of the Tribute. I like the Mariner over the Escape and in last place was the Tribute. Just could not come to trade-in and price terms with the price on the Mariner so we walked away. The wife was disappointed, but was not going to concede to the $3k trade in on our 00 Village Estate.
