Buying a car from a Saab Car Dealer
I'm posting to share that there is a Pepper Green/Parchment 08 9-3 SportCombi at the dealership in Austin with 3k miles, selling for $21,500 (including a $1,000 Saab loyalty discount for current owners). I know this because I almost bought it before settling on another SC loaner with a few more miles for $20k. The cars were eligible for new car financing so I feel like I literally stole the farm on this deal. I went in looking for a used 06' and walked out a very happy guy. Awesome car!
ok- I've gotten a little more info on the above deal that I was quoted... The sales price I've been quoted is $29,800, BEFORE the rolled over negative equity amount... They came back with another offer: $1725 down, covering taxes, 1st pmt, taxes (SC), and security deposit, sales price $29,800 (9-3, auto, roof rails, cold climate package, loaner 3800 miles) 4% lease rate $499/month. This doesn't sound like that great of a deal to me, given the sales price. From what I've read on here, the sales price should probably be lower. What's the prevailing opinion? What's the invoice on this car? The car has a sticker of $30k and some change, but since it's a loaner, they have a sales price listed as $25,500- as a sale, not a lease I'm assuming. Still it looks like to me they'd be able to come down on that sales price... am I being too pesimistic?
my daughter is in the market for this same car - first, congrats. on your purchase.... is this the OTD price, or do I need to factor tax, tag, prep....etc., in other words.. what did you pay to drive it off the lot - I assume that Ellis Saab is in Atlanta??? We're in SC - could be worth the trip - any help would be most appreciated.
Hello - I am looking to get a 2.0T Sportcombi in July. What are the residual and interest rates currently. Also, if you want to laugh, look at the following quote I got today: 2007 2.0T SC Metallic, Auto, Premium 16, Cold Weather, Rails MSRP 32735 Lease: 499 per month, 2995 down, plus tax, ... I didn't know whether to laugh or hang up. thanks for any help. I hope to drive a hard bargain. :) Jeff
Hi afaulkner. The lease rate that you were quoted for this vehicle is right in line with Saab's base lease rate for it. This is always a good thing. Now let's look at this vehicle's price. A 2007 Saab 9-3 Sport Combi 2.0T only has a spread of around $1,500 between its full MSRP and dealer invoice and Saab is not currently providing any lease cash on it. You were offered a discount of $819 on this vehicle. That probably puts you at around $700 or so over invoice, which isn't bad. You may be able to beat this deal by a couple hundred dollars if you are in an area that has a decent level of competition and you shop around but there isn't a whole lot of room to play with here.
