Buying a car from a Mazda Car Dealer
I hear the supply/demand side of the equation. I guess my question is more generalized than that. My first attempt to visit the Lodi Dealership two days before xmas at 20:30 found the dealership locked, lights out, etc. making me think that there are ZERO sales if they are not even busy two days before xmas. How do these guys keep the lights on after the last 18 months, i.e. Mitsubishi dealerships, etc. that have abysmal sales? Do they still sell sufficient numbers of vehicles to stay in biz or ar they severely in debt?
My friend those charges ar for the dealer's work..you still pay your registration and plates..so basically is another way for the dealer to get some more money....don't even try to figure what the fee is for since that oart is no negotiable...the salesperson may say..."well I will take a $100 off the price"...just to keep you happy but this number you don't see until the papers are ready to be sign..of course you can always back out and see how far that will get you....at any rate those fees are evrywhere you go...what changes is what they want charge...
Have you test driven one? As a fellow owner of a 93 RX-7 I think you may not be happy with the power delivery. It's like waiting for boost to come on in your RX-7. Test drive one before you get too serious. The RX-8 is fast, it's just sneaky how it gets there without slamming you into the seat. You'll love the transmission, you'll love the rev. band. You can choose between 3-4 gears at most speeds. You'll love the room inside - passengers - it can carry passengers! And lots of luggage! It handles at least as well as a well set up 3rd gen. too. If you are tall (upper body) stay away from the sunroof - you loose an inch of head room. Other than that, I haven't seen any "issues" with the different packages. Be aware it comes with "summer" tires. If you plan to drive it in cold climates with ice and snow, you will need appropriate tires. You can get nice aluminum wheels and winter tires for about $300 per corner - we chose AR wheels and Nokian WR tires. They work great in rain, ice, and snow. Those are the only things I know of to watch out for.
Jay.....On April 25 I purshased a 2006 Mazda3 HB touring manual w/ moonroof and 6CD changer and was told invoice was $18086. NorthPoint Mazda/VW in North Little Rock AR. sold me the car for this price. Mike
You're right. We're really loving the color now, as does everyone we show it to. My son's reaction to the car - "This car is totally sweet." I don't think I could have expected a stronger endorsement. ;) BTW, the MSRP on the car was $19,815, so we got $3,800 off sticker, and the extra $204 was the dealer's "processing fee".
