believe me and my girlfriend felt that wy very much.. to have spent 6 hrs there and then leave with nothing.. (and stereotypically thats exactly how they want you to feel) but put it in perspective, we werent trying to squeeze the salesguy at all. invoice was 22.7K. I was willing to settle for 23.7K. $1000 ABOVE invoice. ONLY 200$ below their opening quote. They cranked the waiting game on full throttle (probably b/c i had my kids with me) and wasted 4 hrs of my time just to give me 100$ off the opening quote.. with only a half promise of honoring the other 100$. i just couldnt walk out of there not feeling utterly ripped off after 6hrs and being at the same price i started with 6hrs ago. .. and for them to blackmail me refusing to sell me the car unless I agree to pay for an optional Item.. Im sorry, the Attorney General of NJ and Toyota, as well as BBB will be hearing about this... since my salesman boasted about their BBB certification. one voice might not do anything, but hopefully advising others to do the same might eventually surface some new laws about this practice as its happenned in the past. Maybe the next time i buy a car 5-10yrs down i dont have to waste as much time. Fortunately, as frustrating as it was for us.. our kids saw it as quite an adventure carrying their new backpacks full of their games, books, and snacks being in a showroom full of cars.

I do like the Elantra, and I agree it's come a long way, but when the Corolla is still going at 200k, will the Elantra be doing the same thing? Too early to tell. Toyota has a long history as a quality car, as does Honda, but it's to early to tell about Hyundai. Time will tell. If gas wasn't approaching $5, I would probably would have just kept my Subara Outlook a bit longer. Photography is my hobby and I like to do frequent road trips. Couldn't do it as often as I liked anymore in the Boo. I had the chance to try the Corolla in the snow in WY and MT recently and it did great. Handles well in the mountains also. There are a couple of things I don't like about it, one being that the back seats don't go all the way down. The Corolla, Civic, and Elantra seem to rule the road lately. Especially in CA. I also don't know how a really tall person could fit into one of those cars and be comfortable. I'm 5'6'' and I have to drive with my seat all the way back.

i've been e-mailing every toyota dealer in my region (ut, az, co, id, wy) for a 2005 xle ltd awd, gv option package, & apparently they're very rare. only 2 were found in my region. one is in "freight status," and the other is in "allocation status." what do these terms mean? thanks.
