eltuti- You got a better deal than me for the car, but I didn't lease. I bought my '09 MDX-base model on Jan. 5 (they don't sell the tech or sport packages here in AK because many of the components don't work). I paid $35,500 for the car (white with light interior) and with title/fees walked out the door for $36,000 (no taxes in Anchorage) with the 2.9% financing and no trade-in. They wouldn't go any lower or even throw in a cargo mat I still feel I got a good deal... until the next day after work it wouldn't start! I haven't decided if it was a fluke, the cylinoid, or if I should blame it on the cold weather (it was -11 that day for a high and hasn't been over 0 for the last few weeks). Right now they're blaming the problem on it being new and "tight." We'll see if it continues and if I'll have to already start using the warranty. I didn't like the lady on the TLC phone #, they said it would take up to 8 hours to get someone to my car due to the "extreme conditions" in my area. I gave up on her and got someone else to get it started and it didn't need jumping. Go figure. It's almost easier to get a friend to tow you than wait for them to rescue you. Either way, I've gotten 4 check-up calls from the dealer this last few days making sure everything is o.k.. The guys at Continental have been great (although it did take 3 guys to figure out how to lower the spare tire). So if any of you want to buy up here and take a road trip to the lower-48... do it in the summer.
Hi there, I am in the market for a 07 or 08 Type-S, this will be my first Acura. I am coming off a Audi A4. So, I wanted to aks you, what is the major difference between the 07 and the 08. I was thinking about gettinga Certified preown 07, but if I can have a brand new 08 at a decent price, I would jump. I notice that you mentioned "no rattles" is that a common problem with the TL. Last, how much should I be looking to spend for a new 08. I guess with the current state of the economy this is a buyers market for buying this type of cars. Thanks in advance for your input.
I just picked up a 2006 TL (Private Party transaction) in Anchorage, AK. I mention that because we only have (1) Acura dealer in the state. That lack of competition seems to have inflated prices up here when compared to lower 48 pricing. You can buy in Seattle and ship up here but that usually adds at least another $1,000 to the cost of the vehicle. Here's what I got for $26,000: 2006 TL (Anthracite Metalic) with 18,500 miles. Car is in excellent condition inside and out. The primary driver was a 50+ yr old lady with no kids. All service records were current and there was a clean Carfax. Accessories: Extra set of wheels with bridgestone summer tires on Acura chrome rims (the stock alloy rims are on the car now and are set up with studded tires). Clearbra all around (Bumper, hood, lights, fenders). Upgraded steering wheel w/wood trim. Wood trim on front/rear console. All weather Acura mats front/rear. Color keyed mud guards. Moon roof and door visors (they will be coming off immediately). Engine Block Heater. I'm pretty sure this is higher than what a L48 buyer would pay, but based on what I've seen up here it's the best deal I found.
another question- IF I can get the a spec kit as part of my lease - does the MSPR increase by the price of the kit, so the residual will be higher...or does the MSRP they use for the lease stay the same as a stock one and I just pay extra for the body kit? it makes less sense to add it if I have to just pony up the money for it, and then at the end of the lease, theyt ake it with the car when I turn it in....but if I can effectively recoup part of it via the residual...even better. how does that work?
