RLs are being discontinued according to my dealer - -and why not? You can get a TL with SH-AWD now. Acura going for a higher end flagship to compete with Lexus. Grab one now - they are sweet cars and you can get bargains. Just bought used 2008 with 18K on it for $26k. Carbon Gray Pearl/Taupe interior, 5/80K extended warranty. Immaculate. Thanks Jensad. Appreciate your post. I am waiting till March to make a deal. As there might be some Incentive on the 2011 as 2012 expecting new styling. On the 2011 they only have 2500 dealer incentive. Also seeing some 2010 RL's on the lot. Will keep you posted.

Hi capr This my way of negociating with dealers. It may not fit you or other readers. I hope it helps you. I buy a new car about every 8-10 years. US 2011 RL News and Rumors
Hi, does anyone know anything about the 2011 RL that is to debut here in the US later this fall? I've been told by others that Acura is NOT going to be putting in a RWD/V8 platform on the RL now? can anyone confirm this for me, because I thought Acura was still going ahead with it!

You can get the Japanese-market Honda Legend grille right now, provided you don't mind having the Honda H in the middle instead of the rather similar Acura A. (The RL is sold in Japan as the Honda Legend.) It looks much, much better than the U.S. snaggletooth.

Acura RL seats are too hard (2010 model).
I sat in an 2010 Acura RL and found the seats too hard, especially in the thigh support area. The TL seats are better, softer but still supportive. I hope Acura puts somewhat cushier seats in the upcoming 2011 generation. I found the seats in the previous generation (2004 and earlier) better, not nearly as firm. Seat comfort is critical for me in a car, ahead of all other factors.

On RL you need extended warranty, the parts are EXPENSIVE. I bought additional "pre-certified warranty" from the dealer when my 05 RL was 35000, the warranty runs to 98k / 2011; my AC ring developed a leak and the repair bill (covered) was $900. Looking for a 2009 RL in New Jersey. I am hearing the same MSRP nonsense. They also killed the residual on the leases. It does not really seem like Acura wants to sell these cars. They have curtailed production significantly, so there just are not that many of them around. BBRIMMER, The condition of the 2004 RL would have to be spectacular to even consider the choice to begin with. Having said that I have driven the new 2008 Accord and thought it to be an excellent car. It has Acura all over it. My wife and I have owned Hondas since '83 and Acura's since '96. No RL hybrid. I could see diesel as a future engine choice. I know it has its fair share of haters though. The new diesels are in a different league than 30 years ago. Next RL will get a v8 for the first time. The 09 TL will actually rival the 09 RL. The new TL will have features that will rival the 09 RL. If 2009 is when Acura completely redoes the RL I might want to wait but if it is 2011 or so I might want a 2008 with the dealer incentives making it a much better buy than previously. Anyone know their makeover plans? Lee

JJ: Essentially, a hybrid benefits the ecology but damages the pocketbook. If Acura was to turn out a hybrid luxury performance sedan, imagine the implied cost. You and I particularly, would desire the new technology package, the cost of which, in combination with the added hybrid technology, would by 2011 no doubt exceed $65K or even $70K. Conceivable? My friend Acuraphile...I will no doubt replace the RL before 2011 and have no problems with the VTec 6. It is a great engine. I'm wondering though, in light of what I paid for a full tank of gas about 1 hour ago, whether or not Acura will bring to us a Hybrid Luxury Performance sedan?
