Good question. I may be able to answer it very shortly. We have a one year old daughter who has to be in the biggest, rear-facing carseat known to man (Britax Boulevard). It actually doesn't fit rear-facing in our BMW X3. We've been looking to replace the X3 with a Golf so I may take the seat with me if we go to the dealership this weekend. If so, I'll let ... Written by: slowryd76 on Apr 12, 2011 9:01:51 AM

Just got my VW Golf and I'm loving it. I think I got a good deal, but I was curious what others are paying in other places. For $24,500, I was able to get the 2-door, manual golf with Xenon headlights, Dynaudio and sunroof from a dealership in Houston. Is that about average? Wasn't sure how fuel prices have impacted the sticker prices lately.

You asked "if Prius's were so good, why did it take the NYC taxi community app 10 years to start to implement the brand as Taxi's?" Answer: the sluggishness of bureaucracy combined with our general resistance to the new. All things considered, I'm impressed that the city under Bloomberg started pushing for hybrid taxis ... I purchased a 2010 4dr manual Golf TDI last April. You need to consider this: The extra price for the TDI is NOT simply for the TDI engine. The TDI has much nicer appointments (alloy wheels, larger tires, sporty suspension, better seats, etc.) as well. And when you consider the price of fuel, also realize that the price has been going up for both gas and diesel. My girlfriend has a ... Read More

However, the higher price for diesel engines at purchase and the pump price (diesel is about $4/gal in Chicago) makes me want to back away. I keep my cars 8+ years and diesel seems like the best choice for the long run. I average 12,000 city miles/year. I didn't see the Golf TDI on ... Read More

If you only drive 10k or even 15k miles a year, then the cost of fuel is a fairly insignificant part of your total cost of ownership. It's not a Skoda unit with A2DP. It's made by a different vendor and can integrate within the RNS-510, with Skoda like menus. It's standard on all TDI's but optional on the 2.5. The Nav ...
