TY so much for sharing this with the rest of us. We are not currently having any issues, but thought we'd have the recall done on our next oil change. We will now be waiting to hear more ... and hopefully give Toyota mechanics more time to figure out what they are doing! Please keep us all posted!! Thanks again!
I just went to the dealer to get some stuff out of my car and ran into a mechanic who said it was a mechanical error - by this he meant the mechanic made errors when putting on the new bracket assembly. I don't have much more info since Toyota is still doing an investigation and I don't have an offical report yet. I've seen a number of other cases similar ... Read More
Hello. My wife and I have a two year old and an infant and need a new car as we're currently using a small Corolla. Is the cargo space in the 2011 Honday CRV sufficient and roomy enough to easily handle roadtrips/vacations that would include multiple suitcases, strollers, beach chairs/umbrellas, and general gear for kids of that age? I've tried to find an answer to this - but I'm either coming up with mystery leaks or references to a 2011 recall, nothing concrete. I am seriously about to lose my flipping mind over my van. My new 2011 Toyota Sienna has a leak. The area where the 3rd row seat folds down into fills with water every time it rains. I have taken it in for service 6 times and it has only gotten worse. Yeah, that's not cost cutting per se, just less utility out of a vehicle targeted at people who want utility. The cargo isn't totally flat and there are gaps and holes when the seats are folded. I recommend a tarp, cardboard, or something to line the floor that will seal up those holes. I liked the front seats also, the piping on the seats sure looks upscale.
I really don't think smaller cargo space = cost cutting or concern cutting. The reason Quest has less cargo space is the way the van is designed. The fold flat 2nd row might work good with specific buyers. Same for the 3rd row, small family might like the flat cargo over the seating space if they like to go to homedepot all the time. I checked out the van in person, ... Read More

There are some rental return 2011's starting to show-up now. Most are LE models with 10k-15k miles. I don't think you'll see enough of a discount on the rare used XLE to bother. Toyota/Honda it's almost always better to buy new until you're shopping for something more than 3 years old.

In SoCal, all they ship over are either white or silver with just few in black. Black is fine but it will need frequent carwash which is not a good idea in SoCal. My pre-dawn SE looks really cool. We got many compliments about the color. Worth all the efforts to find our SE. :)
I say Pre-Dawn Gray as well. Have not seen another SE in that color in the Philly area since we got it in August. I think it is the best color, luckily didn't have a hard time finding it. I did read thought that only 15% of Sienna production this year were SE models, that might explain your difficulty in finding one.
Try Pre-Dawn Gray. It matches the black interior very well. We just bought one in SoCal on 10-24-2010. It took me 3 months to find one. I think ours is the only Gray SE in town. :-)
My 2008 xle limited does the same thing since the day I bought it new. It now has 30k miles and still does it. I wouldn't go so far as to say the review itself is flawed, so much as it reviews the aspects of the vehicle that a smaller portion of minivan shoppers is going to be concerned with. I'll pre-empt this by saying that for me the 8 seats were a priority, and today's Odyssey offers a bigger/better 8th seat (middle row, center), so that would likely be my choice. However...
