  • Driving into turn, steering wheel locks in the middle of turn

Written by: ccpbruno on May 7, 2011 8:23:30 AM

Has anyone experienced this issue on their Edge? I currently own a 2011 Ford edge limited. When making a right hand turn, the steering wheel locks on the turn. Example: making 90 degree rights turn, and at the 45 degree mark the wheel locks up on you at about 15 to 25 miles an hour. It has happened twice. The first time I took it to the dealer ship and they ... Read More

It's entirely possible, in that the residual factors could change. I don't expect the rebates to get better, however, when leasing, a higher residual alters the payments in your favor- as I'm sure you know. Your offer seems fair. I'm also in your area, so I'm very curious to see if they accept it. One secret I will tell you- if you request a brochure from Ford's website, they'll automatically e-mail ... Read More

We just signed for a 2011 Edge SEL FWD w/ 202A (leather, MyFord, etc) and roof rails in Candy Red Metallic. The MSRP on this vehicle is $34,085; invoice is $32,251; the dealer offered it to us for $100 under invoice ($32,151) and then we took the $1500 incentive from Ford PLUS another $500 because my wife graduated from grad school within the past two years. The 2011 Ford Edge rebate just went from $1k to $1,500. We are thinking of ordering one (interested in a limited, without the sunroof and this is never a dealer-ordered configurations I guess). One thing the dealer warns about is the risk of their being no rebates available (or less of a rebate) by the time comes in from the factory (and estimated 8-week window). It would be really lame to ... Read More

I just test drove an 2011 Ford Edge today and my neck still hurts from having my head forced forward by the head rest. I am 5' 8'' and do not have neck problems. I could not position the seat and head rest to get this problem to go away. I had to sit with my back off the seat to avoid the head rest. :(

Does anyone know if the 2011 Edge has turn signals in it's side view mirrors. I couldn't see it in any pictures and I saw someone blog where they said " I wish they had them". If not............What's up Ford?.......get with the program. Also, "host", any idea when Edmunds will be doing a test drive for the 2011?

The Edge has a lower residual value and a higher money factor (interest rate), so the money you pay goes towards a bigger loan. A typical lease loan is generally made up of three things: depreciation, interest and taxes. The depreciation is made up of the difference between the agreed upon sale price and the residual value. Therefore, a high residual value and a low sale price yields a smaller loan. ... Read More
