2007 Chevrolet Impala Owner Experiences

  • I really wish I didn't buy this impala

Written by: zeusandjenn on Apr 1, 2011 1:41:23 PM

I love my car! I do.....but the damn thing has too many issues.....from bad tire sensors, to squeaking windows, to inside cabin noise, to a banging in the pass side of the dash, to no heat unless moving for an extended period of time and lastly.....to AN OIL LEAK IN THE REAR HEAD GASKET! I really do not know what to do, the gasket is about $1200 to replace alone.....I think ... Read More

Incase someone was in the market for a new GM/Chevy product, I wanted to share some info for you to read before you buy. I bought a new 2010 Impala LTZ a few months ago. I have 6,000 miles on it now. I have been having this sulfur/rotten egg smell from the exhaust since about a week after I had it. I finally brought it into the shop and they said ... Read More

I agree; stretching the earlier Impala from 2000-2005 seemed long to me, so with the new one running 2006-2010 or 2011 is comparable I guess. But one thing they did correctly on the 2000-2005 version was they introduced the car with just the base and LS trim levels, and then rolled out the SS a few years later, so there was always something coming down the pike that kept the car ... Right now Chevy is riding a tide of high sales on its Impala. GMs top selling car. 35,600 sold in May. When a car is selling well like this car, updating improvements have to keep coming to keep the sales high. Another couple years of the same old will soon show up in lost sales. Chevy has put too much emphasis on the new Malibu coming this fall thats very close ... Read More

I read somewhere that the replacement Impala, 2010 or 2011, will be RWD also read the same thing - when the car becomes available FWIU is largely dependent on plant capacity down under. The G8 is being built there already but they are projecting enough demand that there apparently will be a limited no. of G8s shipped over here. The Impala would obviously figure to sell more cars and I guess ... Read More

Chevrolet Impala 2005 and earlier

It's been a week now since I sold my 2000 Impala; I ordered it in January of 2000 and took delivery in March of that year. Almost 8 years and 114k miles later I sold it...not because there was anything wrong with it, but really more of a timing issue. My oldest child turns 16 in 2009, and will be off to college in 2011. I realized if I didn't get ... Read More

Though it hasn't happened yet, it looks like I may be saying goodbye to my 2000 Impala (which also means I may be moving on from this forum). I started posting here back in early 2000 after I'd ordered my Impala and was curious as to how long it took from ordering to delivery, and I've been here ever since. The car has almost 114k miles on it now, and it's ... Read More

I agree with this to a point but you also must remember that if GM refreshens a car to quickly it won't last long enough and they won't see profits come from it as they could. Every five to six years is good for one style seven at the max with minor refreshening in between. Look at the chevy lumina 1995-2001 chevy impala 2000-2005 and now 2006-2009 or 10 for the ... The 2008 Impala is already posted on Chevy's website and it is the same as the 06-07 except for some changes to the trimlines and options and prices. I can't imagine Chevy would do a 2008 run and then make changes within 6 months. It can take longer than that to retool the plant for such changes, and the current Impala is selling very well for Chevy. I recall reading at ... Read More

Who are you kidding? The Lucerne 4.6L was tested by Car and Driver to reach 60mph in 6.9 seconds. It's basically a slug for a V8. The "Hemi" name is ancient but the engine is relatively new (2003) even though it is a pushrod design. I meant LaCrosse "Super" with the 5.3 LS-4 300 hp V8 ;) The Lucerne "Super" gets the 292 hp version of the Northstar which should knock ... Read More

If you are considering an Impala SS wait until June (if you can) and order a 2007. There will be some improvements but nothing major. The current glitches affecting the 2006 will probably been taken care of. Waiting just 3 months will also give you a car a model year newer as well. If you can wait 15 months order a 2008 Impala SS. It will be the Impala's 50th anniversary ... Read More

You aren't talking to the same folks that I am :-) Yes, there are rumors of a new large RWD sedan for Chevy, but we are not talking until 2010-2011 at the earliest. Whether or not this is named Impala or (more likely) Caprice, is yet to be determined... at today's GM, nothing is set in stone until you see the show car (look what happened to Zeta)... --Robert
