What Edmunds Says

Questionable throwback styling cues, lethargic handling and a characterless interior make this a last-resort coupe at best.

Pros

Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong V6 in SS models.

Cons

Mediocre performance, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

What's New for 2003

The Monte Carlo receives only minor changes for the 2003 model year. The base LS model has been upgraded with standard four-wheel disc brakes, traction control and remote keyless entry. Both the LS and SS models sport newly styled wheels, four new exterior colors and the option of adding XM Satellite Radio.
