The 2011 Audi Q5 Hybrid is all-new.
For the first time for the North American market, Audi will offer a gasoline/electric hybrid in the form of the 2011 Q5 Hybrid. Details are still slim, but it's expected to combine the regular Q5's turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. Presumably, the Hybrid will come with Quattro all-wheel drive.
The 2011 Audi Q5 Hybrid should maintain everything we like about the standard Q5, including athletic handling, comfortable seating all around and a quiet cabin at freeway speeds. It will likely share a few gripes as well, such as the Q5's smallish cargo capacity.
Though Lexus long ago started offering a hybrid luxury crossover in the form of the RX 400h, the 2011 Audi Q5 Hybrid should stand out thanks to a sporty driving experience. Check back later for a full review with additional driving impressions and buying advice.
