Very happy with the lovely 3

I leased this mazda 3 August 2010. I really love the brilliant handling and the comfort seat and ride. Steering is very fast and precise. I guess for the price, you can't find other car in the class with better driving experience. I did do some autocross with this car. Even on all season tire, it can still shine. I also did a few 800 mile journey, it is comfortable enough that I can drive 13 hrs straight in the car. The down side would be so so fuel economy, I normally average 23-24 mpg in town, barely 30 mpg driving on highway. Also the build quality could be slightly improved. My car did develop a slight rattle at the back of the car at around 5000 miles. Overall, i am very happy.

Traded in our Mazda 5 in order to pass this car on to my kids, now 12. Now at about 14,000 miles, I am just as happy with it as I was with our 5. It's a great looking car and I really enjoy the bluetooth feature. Love using the manual shift and it is nice and sporty with alot of get up and go. Not thrilled about the gas mileage, but if I keep my speed under control, mileage does become better. Got Pearl White with beige interior and tinted the windows. Pay close attention, it looks exactly like the new Lexus 200CTH at half the price! Would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Great car recommend to all

I have this car for a little over a year and it has been a great car. My previous car was a 99 Honda Accord and this has alot more power and handles a lot better. everything is still running like new. One of my biggest gripes is that the original tires burned out extremely fast. Around 20K. It has plenty of power for passing and get up to the top speed, well the limiter. The shfit gear has loosen up a bit over the 28k I have had it but still good.. Love that all i have to do is change the oil which is great for a college student minus the tire issue. It scratches easily by the under the door handle.

Most reviewers for this car seem very content. After owning this M3 for nearly a year I am in that camp. If I ever run into one of those "discontents" I would gladly take the car off their hands at a deep discount for my son or daughter. Handling is superb...power from the 2 liter is fine for my needs...mileage has been decent, not great. Car has done very well in snow and slippery conditions due to esc, traction control, abs. Very well designed body for high wind stability. Ride is rather busy around town due to tight suspension but that's the way sporty cars feel.My wife's 2009 Mazda 6 is much smoother so we use it on big trips. Love that car too. Rear bumper scratches easily in parkin

Sharp handling can't make up for dull engine

The Mazda3 has a few things going for it - expandable space, a responsive chassis, cool extras and near bulletproof reliability. But to go with all of that Mazda gives owners a shoddy interior, a lackluster transmission and an inefficient, rough-riding engine. Hit a corner at night and the adaptive xenons bulbs light the way but the transmission can't rapidly downshift and when the tranny finally catches up the 2.5 liter 4 is screaming for mercy, its NVH nearly allowing the engine to escape the car's hood. Drive it as if your grandmother was in the car and it was appear totally adequate; drive it for fun and the failings of the car are evident.

One year into ownership with the 2010 Mazda3 and it's got a few positives, a few negatives and overall a lot that is just blah. The engine is rough-riding, doesn't rev well and when matched to the archaic 5 speed auto delivers wretched fuel economy: mostly highway driving and the car returns 20-21 MPGs. The engine seems to strain on any incline. The interior still feels cheap and rough. The car handles well but that can't make up for the fact it's mostly just a bland car with a bad transmission and engine.

My 10th Mazda - and still no regrets!

Purchased my 5-Door GT after a 10 year hiatus from Mazda during which I have owned 4 BMW's, including 3 3-series and a Z4. Terrible experience with the latest 3-series so went back to Mazda and I love this car! It is a little noisy on the highway but nothing the amazing sound system doesn't solve. Loose stabilizer bar in rear at 3000 miles was fixed quickly and the car is amazing again! Love the looks, love the performance, love all the features! Nothing from Toyota or Honda even comes close! And my BMW is barely keeping up anymore - can't wait to trade the BMW in for a Mazda 6! Lost my pearl white 3 especially now that I've added a bike rack to the roof! Love this car!

I've only had my Mazda 3 sport for a little over 1 week, but so far I love to drive this car. I try to think of places I need to go just to get in and go somewhere. The bose system is awesome, such clarity. I owed a 2001 Maxima so I'm having to adjust to the stiff ride of the Mazda but hopefully I will get there. I read some reveiws about road noise on another site I don't hear it, I do hear the engine a little but that's fine. If you want a compact sedan or hatchback you must drive the Mazda 3 the handling and the power this little car puts out will amaze you.

Bought the Mazda3 simply because it was great on mileage, something my Jeep Liberty wasn't. On a full tank of gas, which is about 375 miles in the Mazda, I'm saving $50 every time I fill up. It's a much smaller vehicle, granted, but that's a huge difference. And as fun as the Jeep was to drive, this is close, and that's saying something. It's quick, it's stylish and comfortable enough. I looked at every other car in its class, and the Mazda3 not only looks better and got better ratings but it's cheaper overall than all of them. Like many other small cars, it has its drawbacks. It's a tight car, but trunk space is good. But i'd definitely recommend it.

Great Car

I bought this car a little over a year ago to replace a '98 Trans Am. My second choice would have been the Golf TDi. I love the extra space I get out of the hatch while still having a small car. At the time, it offered a lot more features than it's competitors, though it seems Mazda is slowly taking those away with newer models. I've autocrossed a few times in it, and while it's not a fast car, I typically do better on the tight courses with it than I did with the TA. The interior is also a lot more comfortable (& better looking) than that of the TA as well. Overall, it's a great car, especially for the cost, I just wish it got better gas mileage & had a better stereo than Bose.
