I am new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee owner, just picked the truck up this tuesday 4/19/11. I was also suprised and disappointed with the tires that it came with. I briefly enjoyed a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011 Overland with the Off-Road Adventure Package and smaller wheels until it was lost in an accident. This past Christmas snow storm, here in the Northeast, I saw so many 4x4 getting stuck in 6 - 12 inches of soft snow during the early parts of the storm. You are right about the Inferno Red. My second choice was Silver, but, yes, the red shows a deeper shine. I called Chrysler Customer Service to get hard copies of the manuals. They told me there is a Radio Enhancement available for the 2011 Grand Cherokees (#RRT 11-026). I was surprised since I have the upgraded 730N media center. Dealer said it is a software upgrade.
Picked up my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Overland, Hemi, Inferno Red yesterday. Everything seems to work. Hemi is awsome. Will take me a long time to learn all the gadgets. I can't remember the last time I owned V8. Too bad I have to baby this thing for the first 500 miles!

The tranny does not have "added gears" as far as I know, just the conventional five. The 2011 JGC will be the only luxury cuv that offers V8 power and RWD. To me, that's significant. I would be willing to bet that the pricing will be about the same as the 2010s, comparably equiped. Even if Chrysler goes belly up, somebody will want Jeep.
I've also got my eye on this vehicle. From the pictures it looks great inside and out, the new V6 engine looks impressive and the new features they're making available are very intriguing. One thing that I've read that's disappointing is the 3500 lb. tow rating with the V6 engine. Most crossovers are capable of at least this much (i.e. MDX = 5000 lbs., Pilot = 4000, etc.).
