The President of Toyota Motor Corp. announced the other day at a press conference that Toyota will indeed build the diesel Tundra for the '10-'11 MY. It will be powered by a new "clean diesel" technology. I am guessing sequential direct injection and new catalyst technology in the exhaust manifold. Can't wait for 2010 to get here now. Something to look forward to. :D
Well, the Tundra, and it's predecessor have been around 16 years now, without makiking nary a dent in the domestic full-sized market. Toyota finally learned that 7/8ths of a truck wasn't going to cut it, so, they came out with this bloated Tundra, with some apparent intial success. My dealer told me in 2010 or 2011 before the Tundra Hybrid is on the lot. I'm not waiting for a Hybrid that may get me 2-3 miles more per gal and cost me more.
