Got a 2010 S. Hate it. The noise level on the interstate is deafening. Doors are flimsy and don't seal properly. Gas mileage isn't bad ~28mpg hwy but small tank means only 300 miles on a tank. Can't turn off the stupid automatic headlights. Shroud added by the S option is just tacked on with plastic tabs that have already broken. Hi all, I was one of the first to post in this thread. (Post #17 http://bit.ly/ijWmIw). At the time I guessed more of this would crop up. There are now 460 posts in this thread and Toyota has yet to acknowledge a problem. I am sad and disheartened because I love the Matrix. I had the same problem. My 2004 Matrix, 115,000 died just as I pulled into the dealers driveway. As on user here described it sounded like someone had thrown a handfull of nuts and bolts into a blender. They gave me a repair estimate of $3475.00 and never mentioned anyone else having problems. I just bought a 2010 Toyota Matrix. Not only is it on the recall list, but the front driver's seat is KILLING my leg after about 30 minutes of driving. I have a 2008 Matrix (automatic) and within 5,000 miles I began having problems with my gas pedal and acceleration almost identical to the recall problems on the 2009/2010 models.
