    For those who own a 2011 this is great news. I've always wondered how this 2011 stacks up against earlier years. I traded a 2000 Avalon in on my 11. The steering on my 2000 was easier. It seems Toyota has change the steering method. Besides that I didn't own my 2000 long enough to compare. I had electrical problems with that car. Again thanks for sharing,

The "lump" in my case (Avalon Limited) is a small rigid plastic air plenum that connects seat bottom to the flexible air hose coming from the blower motor for cooled seats. The plastic plenum is a "connector" ( somewhat similar to the end of a garden hose) that directs cool air into a hole in the seat bottom padding. There are built in air ... Read More

    Hello Jim, Bad news to report. My Toyota GM ( or service manager) called the Orland Park IL contacts you provided. The bottom line that I got back was that the fix that they did to your Avalon driver's was not "sanctioned" by Toyota.     Get your Toyota factory Rep. involved. They may try to blow you off. Your husband will be very happy with the fix. It was a custom fix that the Orland Park, IL.     Dennis, just review the posts in this topic for the past 2-3 months for your answer. There are several dealerships out there who are giving very good prices on extended warranties. The Midwest Toyota Super store in Hutchison, Kansas, is where I bought mine. Ask for Jerry.

    Reading the automotive trades it looks like Toyota is building and selling a lot of Avalons. I would be surprised if they offered any major incentives for a bit. Maybe by year end if things slow down. I picked up a Blizzard Pearl Limited and traded in a 2005 XLS with 77K miles TTOD was $23673 with the ugly floormats.

    It shows the remote start as an available accessory here: http://www.toyota.com/avalon/accessories.html So, my guess is that your dealership is wrong. I would push back on them a little bit, email your sales person or service advisor that link and ask them if Toyota is wrong.

    Wanted to add matching body side molding like I did with my 2006. But the local dealer said it was not availble for the 2011. So bought it on line from http://www.sportwing.com/toyota-chromeline-painted-body-side-molding.aspx. They will supply you with directions for the 2011 as the measurement is a little different than the 2005-2010. It looks good with a narrow chrome strip in the middle of the molding.

    A little checking on the web shows the same stock number for aftermarket floor mats for the Avalon 2007-2011 (I didn't go back further). My guess is that OEM mats are the same for this generation Avalon. Toyota might have made some changes, but keeping the floor mats common would save a lot of money. Pairing the current options down to a couple of colors just saves more.

    My dealer in Houston also knew nothing about a compass fix coming from Toyota. My compass continues to lock up at times and than starts working again when the engine is shut off and restarted. My dealer checked my compass and could find nothing wrong. Of course it was working the day I took it in.

    Did you place your radio in AUX mode? Not trying to insult you, just asking. Can you use the cord instead? A friend of mine has a Toyota Prius with the same equipment. It worked one day and stopped. She had the part replaced. I would test it with another iPod to ensure it is still working or working for that matter. Good luck.

    Not sure if Toyota is the same, however, on my 09 Genesis it requires a proprietary cable from Hyundai for the Ipod to function properly.

In fact, when you look in index under "foot lamps" it sends you to a page that has absolutely nothing to do with Puddle Lamps.     Just figured it out. When you move the visor to the window position, you can then pull the visor further towards the rear of the car along the visor arm - the visor doesn't extend - it moves.     It was a 2010 Toyota Avalon Limited (loaded) with Nav, 8 way passenger, special paint, laser cruise, floormats and wheel locks . Yes the over 7000.00 reduction and rebates were great. Unfortunately the sales tax (8.25%) and then registration (nearly 500.00!) etc takes a big bite out of that "savings". Don't you just love the government :-) ?
