Dear Car Man, Could you please let me know what the MF and RV for May 2011 are for a Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited? Also, what is the invoice on an Outback like this?
I have a 2000 Forester and only starting having problems after the idler pulley went bad a caused the timing belt to jump. This was past the 200K mark. I like Subaru's so much, I bought a 2011 Outback despite the fact I hate car notes/payments. And have not had one in 10 years.
Very similar thing happened to me just about a week after your experience- I recently bought a 2000 Outback with 150K miles (learner car for my 16 yr old daughter). I never had a Subaru before, and except for the oil leaks, like it. Then a few nights ago the radio went off and on by itself, the ABS lights flashed, the instrument dials swung wildly, and "At oil temp" message ... Read More
Paid $28,845 for this car, with Media Hub and All-Weather Mats. Car should be here in 3-4 weeks. Price includes title and documentation fee (no sales tax in NH!). I could have gone $200 less at another dealer, but previous experiences at the other dealer haven't been great. ... Read More
I agree. My $150 Garmin was superior. Why did they go with DVDs that have to be changed for each region? And the DVDs are apparently at least 3 years out of date. Subaru should at least supply updated DVDs.
I travel for work (I live in RI, but spend a lot of time working in NY and NJ). I estimate that my navigation fails to perform as expected, if at all, 70% of the time (and I'm being conservative). That is, it cannot find common locations, says a location does not exist when very clearly it does, or brings me to an incorrect location. Additionally, the usability is absolutely terrible. ... When a buyer finances the dealer is paid almost right away by the finance company. Some have relationships with their "preferred" finance institutions where the dealer gets back a percentage (usually of the interest) so they can in some cases also make money on the finance side. Paying cash is convenient & reduces paperwork but does not necessarily benefit the dealer.
