  • Splash Guards for 2010 Milan Hybrid

    Written by: hayley2 on Dec 11, 2009 12:09:09 PM

Checking with my local Mercury Dealer about a month ago, he confirmed that Splash Guards were now available for the 2010 Milan Hybrid. I ordered a set of 4 ($75.00) and $75.00 to install. I was somewhat disapointed in that they are small and do not extend down more than approximately 2" but are made of a durable stiff rubber so some kind. The rear flaps have the word "Milan" while ... Over on another Fusion forum a Ford person said Ford splash guards for the 2010 would be available about October. Earlier years are available now but won't fit the '10. Don't know if they have Fusion on them..

As I said, I originally wanted a Mercury Milan HB. Unfortunately, the dealerships that I encountered did not want to cooperate. As for 2010 Prius reliability, you are quite correct that the car was (almost) totally redesigned. However, after searching for as many reviews as I could find that included test drives, I could not find any substantial criticism of its design and performance. To the contrary, they were generally quite ... Read More

Well that is better than what I thought. Not correct though.

He meant the oil level on the dipstick is at the bottom of the acceptable range (meaning it's probably only a quart low). Won't hurt to drive it like that for a few days.

Stop driving the car until the problem is solved. If the oil level is at the bottom you can do tremendous damage to the engine in a very short period of time. I wonder if the wrong dip stick was installed in your engine. Ask to see the service manager. Your present service advisor is an idiot.

I have checked the oil level after 24 hours and the level is at the mark on the bottom. I agree with you, and I don't understand why the Service Advisor tells me it is ok. I'm going to call Ford Cust. Service in the am and see what they tell me. I'm sure it will be what everyone else is telling me, that it is low on oil. We'll see. ... Read More

The reason it is at or near full minutes after shutting off is because as the oil circulates it blows oil onto the dipstick making you think it is full. Check it after it sits overnight and BEFORE starting and if it is low then add oil till it hits the full mark.

I agree with the replies to my question on the oil level. I'm going to call Ford Customer Service Monday and see what they have to say. When I check just a few minutes after shutting down my engine, the oil level is at full, but 15 minutes later it is at the low end of dip stick. :(

I checked my oil 1 hour after a short trip this AM and it was exactly the same place it has been the other 4-6 times I have checked it, right at full. Several of those checks were first thing in the AM. What your dealer said makes no sense. What does the manual say? Yea, 10k is too long. I'm planning to change at 7.5k miles. Turned over 3k miles ... Read More

Sounds like your dealer is giving you a bunch of cr-p. The dipstick should go into the oil pan and sometimes it can say low right after you shut off as some of the oil is still in the engine but slowly drains back into the pan which than should show full. What the dealer is saying is completely opposite of what it should say. Maybe he misunderstood you, if not ... Read More

I noticed that when I check the oil level like fifteen minutes or more after engine has been shut down, that the level shows just barely above the low mark on the dip stick. I checked this with my dealer and was told that it needs to be checked like five minutes after engine is shut down or it drains into the oil pan indicating oil level is low. The dealer ... Read More

I once had a Toyota that died and took weeks to get fixed. It happens to all car lines at some point. It is not unusual for a part to be defective from the factory, and since these cars are brand new, the techs have a lot more to learn, and things like this will happen, hence the wait a year before buying a brand new model. Keep your chin up, ... Read More

My new 2010 Fusion hybrid lasted 7 days and 500 miles before it died in the middle of traffic. Towed into the dealer 6 days ago but they say they cannot fix it because they cannot get parts! Ford cannot make a dent in the hybrid market this way. Ford customer support says that they will get back to me in "a few days" Maybe I made a mistake.

The early bird may get the worm, but early buyers of either the new 2010 Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan Hybrids will get a good deal more -- $3,400 more to be exact -- in the form of a federal income tax credit. These new and super-efficient sedans qualify for the largest bit of tax relief ever offered on any hybrids purchased or put into service after December 31, 2005. Early ... Read More

Don't necessarily drink the koolaid that you need all those expensive batteries and electric motors to get 40 MPG: "If it were our money, the Fusion/Milan we want would be powered by the combination of a 1.6L EcoBoost four with dual-clutch transmission and start/stop that we saw in the Lincoln Concept C at this year's Detroit Auto Show. That powertrain would virtually match the 40-mpg fuel consumption potential of this hybrid ... Read More

Umm...the 2010 Fusion is already quiet, perhaps more so than the 2009 MKZ. The 2010 Milan shares alll the upgrades, and provides a slightly more stylish interior, and a slightly different exterior. I prefer the Milan styling. Lots of people prefer the Fusion. Ford has no business putting a lot of differentiation here, when it is still doubtful whether the whole shebang will surviive. I am still hoping they save the ... Read More
