I have a 2010 Mercury Milan and when cold, in the twenties or colder, the trans does shift hard/firmly until it warms up. I asked my local dealer about this and they informed me that the trans fluid is not a synthetic but a petroleum based item. When my Milan reaches 15,000 miles, I am going to dump the Ford fluid and replace it with a synthetic. Amsoil has one that ... Read More
I purchased a 2010 Mercury Milan in early January of this year. I am generally satisfied with this car except with the transmission. When it is cold, it shifts harshly for the first few miles and then settles down. I have made a comment to the dealer and they have told me it is due to the fact that the trans fluid is a non-synthetic. That kind of makes sense. At ... Read More
Mercury has $1500 in dealer cash available now. But they're not going to build a bunch of them so they won't be piled up on dealer lots so I don't expect the deals to get much better except maybe on a few oddball leftovers.
Since Mercury is going bye bye, wont be long when you will be able to get great deals on that line. I doubt it. The market system will not allow the Milan's price to drop below that of a comparably equipped Fusion, since the two are functionally identical. Right now there's only a couple hundred dollars difference in most cases anyway. So don't expect to pick up a Milan Premier for ... Read More
10 Sport, same thing with the folding seat, the Flex does too. Since Mercury is going bye bye, wont be long when you will be able to get great deals on that line.
One nice feature of the 2010 Milan is that the passenger seatback folds forward flat as can be (and level). It essentially converts to a flat table like surface. When I have no passengers, I fold it and move it as far forward as I can and it presents a surface for whatever. It also takes the seatback and headrest out of sight lines and opens the interior of the car ... Read More
2010 Mercury Milan Tuxedo Black Metallic I got a rough scratch on the front bumper coming off a high curb. Is there anyway i can repair this myself ?
Same goes for Lincoln really. They seem to just be gussied up Ford's as well with all too often over done styling that comes off somewhat unattractive. If there are any cost savings from dumping Mercury, Ford should put all that money into improving Lincoln. I don't understand why people pay another 10 grand for essentially the same car and drive train as a Ford? I think that's going to be ... Read More
I have a 2010 Mercury Milan,Tuxedo Black Metallic. I just saw a couple light scratches on the door. I tried Dupont Polishing Compound. It didn't completely remove them. I now have a Dulled looking area where i used the compound. What should i do to fix this ?
I needed to lease a new car and was tempted by the Fusion ad for $167.00 a month. Of course it was for 24 months, 10,000 miles a year and I needed 36 months, 20,000 miles a year. My Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer gave me a price of $282.00/month for a loaded 2010 Milan. Loaded with all power stuff including driver's seat, moonroof, back up alarm, 17" aluminum wheels, bucket seats, console, floor ... Read More
Well, I stopped and looked the the threads listed under "Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan", and there isn't one there about the Hybrid brake issue, so you have a good point on that issue. I frequent several Fusion forums, and I'm so used to seeing them, I assumed there would be one here, too. I'm real suprised it isn't. Maybe it's a good idea for you to post your link in an appropriately ... Read More
I have a 2010 Mercury Milan Premier When i adjust the fan speed for the heater,i get an Icon of a Fan with bars indicating the speed on the radio display. And it stays on until i turn the car off. When i just turn on the Fan without adjusting the speed there is NO Fan icon on the display. Is this working correctly ? How doe's your's work ?
Well it does seem like the Camry can no longer compete with the Fusion and Accord. Was looking at Consumer Guide and even they note that the 2010 Camry has poor Build Quality. Consumer Reports withdrew the Camry as a Recommended car. Their Best Buys include the Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, Mercury Milan, and Toyota Prius. (though given the lastest recall on the Prius, they will likely ... Read More
I just read this today of the web news Software also appears to be to blame at Ford Motor Co., which said Thursday it plans to fix 17,600 Mercury Milan and Ford Fusion gas-electric hybrids because of a glitch that can give drivers the impression the brakes have failed. The automaker says the problem occurs in transition between two braking systems and at no time are drivers without brakes. Ford spokesman ... Read More

Just got a 2010 Mercury Milan Premier It is very hard to judge the distance when i am parking. When i pull into a parking space with a Concrete Curb i am afraid i will hit the curb & hurt the front end which is very low. Does anybody else have this problem & what do you do to judge the distance ? I never had this problem with any other ... Read More
Hi Brian. It really doesn't make sense to lease a Fusion or Milan Hybrid or right now. Ford is not currently providing lease support on these cars. As a result, if you were to lease one through Ford Credit, you would have to pay a very high interest rate. Ford Credit's current 36 month, 15,000 mile per year residual value for a 2010 Milan Hybrid 2WD is 44%. Combine this with ... Read More
Hi =) I am planning to buy either a Fusion I-4 SEL fully loaded or a Milan I-4 Premier fully load (both without navigation). Fusion comes out to approx. $26,500 and Milan to approx $27,000. Therefore I am asking, regardless of price, which car is better? I have done research and the engines, specs, features, and dimensions are the exact same to precise detail (length, width, etc.), but besides for the ... Read More
I test drove a new 2010 Milan Premier 4 cylinder this evening... great car, great mpg, extremely quiet and solid, handled great, very comfortable. I'm curious about the new taillights on the '10 Milan, as the brochure has a close-up photo of the lights with them turned on. The photo shows the LED lights on the trunk lid section and the quarter panel all turned on. But on the Milan I ... Read More
I test drove a new 2010 Milan Premier 4 cylinder this evening, about 15 miles on the interstate going 65 mph and had the a/c on for half of the trip. I reset the trip computer's mpg reading to 0 once on the interstate, and it showed the average of 38 mpg at the end of the drive, incredible. This Milan was extremely quiet and solid. Handled great. Mercury needs to ... Read More
Seeing and reviewing all pictures, details and reviews, on the 2010 Fusion/Milan, I can’t help but share a few thoughts. While I am mostly impressed to see what Ford is capable of, having built a nice package, quite nice design (exterior), good ride/handling in addition to AWD, loads of features, good fuel economy (especially in the Hybrid version), plus add to that the good reliability Ford is joining recently, I still ... http://jalopnik.com/5099338/2010-ford-fusion-mercury-milan-lincoln-mkz-design-di- ssected Pretty cool how Ford has improved the Fusion/Milan I am sure everyone has heard how the Fusion/Milan are now rated very high in safety! Ford/Volvo have 16 vehicles with safety awards! Ford is listening to consumers..
Remember they're bringing over some of the European brands and I'm sure some of those will end up as Mercury's. With the shift towards fuel economy it will now be viable to offer premium versions of smaller cars (B and C size) that would not have worked before. You should check out the 2010 Fusion I4 - best in class fuel economy for both the regular and hybrid version, according to ... Read More
Autoblog published 2010 Milan and Funsion spy photos http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/14/spy-shots-2010-mercury-milan-is-up-next/
Wait for the 2010 version - job 1 in December, on sale in January. It gets a 6 speed manual and I'd say there's a good chance it will be available on higher end models.
According to Kuzak: "Mercury and Lincoln will complement each other. Lincoln will start with midsized sedans and move up from there...Mercury brings a younger, more female customer than the Ford brand. We're focusing (Mercury) very much on small, fuel-efficient products." Ford hopes that Mercury will continue to attract these younger premium car buyers who will then move up to Lincolns as they get older and their families get larger. Going forward, he ... Read More
I'm very curious about which engines will be offered on the 2010 Ford Fusion (and Mercury Milan if it's still around). The current 2.3L I-4 will be replaced by the same 2.5L being introduced in the 2009 Mazda6. But what about the V6? It seems unlikely that the V6 from the Mazda6 will also make it to the Fusion. Currently, the only Ford using that 3.7L V6 is the Lincoln MKS. ... Read More
That MT article was crazy. Look for the 2010 Fusion on an updated CD3 and the next Taurus to be on the D3-2 platform like the MKS. I don't know about the Mercury versions but I expect the Milan to continue with similar changes to the Fusion. I have heard nothing about a future Sable. These opinions are not guaranteed to be true but they make more sense than MT. This ... Read More
I just read in MT that 2010 Fusion and MKZ will be based on European Mondeo platform, CD3 will be abandoned, and Milan will be canceled, so Mercury will remain without midsize car. Another thing they wrote is that new Taurus may be based on CD3 platform whichis in all due respoct I cannot imagine. Are they smoking or it was April 1st?
Funny, but to me the ES330 looks almost just like the Camry (interior and exterior, the differences are minor), and the TL looks very similar to the Accord, again with minor differences, but the same overall theme and style. Inside or outside, you instantly know which is a Toyota and which is a Honda product. The same is true, but to a lesser extent, with the Nissan products, as the Infiniti ... Read More
