It's normal. If you want to see something really weird, have someone drive your Acadia on the highway while you follow it. After a few miles of steady driving have them push on the gas to hit passing gear and watch the exhaust. The first time I saw this while following my wife in her Acadia, I thought she had blown a ring or something.
