The Fuel Pump makes the humming sound then I checked the valve stem like you said and only dribble comes out its like no pressure at all it seems, Just to add when I took off the gas cap there was no hissing sound either. So is this indeed the fuel pump, I did replace the fuel filter and when we took out the fuel pump everything was intact it looked ... Read More

Took control of my new car Nov.1, 2010 and presently have 4700 miles on it. With combo hwy/cty drive my average is 20 miles and main. was one oil change at 3800 with motorcraft 5/20 durablend and fl500 filter. So far, the taurus rides steady nice accel to 60 60 up it goes. Well I also have a 2007 Acura TL Type S and 2010 Acura TSX Tech. Just traded my TSX for a 2011 Audi S4 340 HP 333 Pd Ft Torque 0-60 in 4.7 DSG Transmission and Qtr Mile in 12.7! Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2011 Taurus SEL FWD with 10,500 miles per year are 0.75% and 63%, respectively in most areas (the lease program does vary some by region). Just bought the 2011 Taurus Lim AWD with 303a pack,multi contour seats,adaptive cruise,and nav.Was a toss-up with the SHO but price and insur. cost played a factor. The 3.5 L engine has plenty of power for normal day use and uses regular gas. The SHO same motor but twin turbo jets out like a bullet and recommends prem.gas.. Using figures from the old Explorer is as valid as arguing about the old JGC. Both are new, and the Ford blows away the Jeep in economy. Anyhow, back to the Taurus. No changes for 2011, I presume?

Hi kitmax. The lease rate that you were quoted looks high to me. According to the latest information that I have seen, Ford Credit's current base lease rate for a 24 month lease of a 2011 Taurus SHO is only 0.75% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier. I ordered a Taurus on March 6th. Salesman called today and said I had a 5 to 10% chance of getting a 2010. Ford is done taking orders for the 2010 models. One of his secretaries decided to order a Taurus yesterday and hers will have to be a 2011.

I think FoMoCo should play up the quietness and safety of the new Taurus in a marketing campaign similar to Buick's "Quiet-Tuning" of a couple years ago. From all I've heard and read, the new Taurus is one of the quietest cars on the road and I'm certain the safety ratings will be stellar. However, the Taurus (and sister MKS) have a dedicated plant and don't share much with other Fords, so they need more volume to cover the much higher fixed costs involved. Wow - so much misinformation. The Taurus and MKS share the D3 platform with the Ford Flex, Lincoln MKT and upcoming 2011 Ford Explorer. That is 5 vehicles, one plant. When Ford goes backwards with names, the cars usually fall on their face: 1977 LTD II, 1981 Granada (Fairmont-based), 1984 LTD (Fairmont-based). Although none were smash successes as the original Taurus, none of those cars fell on their face. All were moderately successful and sold a little better than their predecessors.
