Hi aj72. Ally's current base lease rate for a 36 or 39 month lease of a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox 4-cylinder AWD with 15,000 miles per year is 1.8%. I haven't seen the residual values for this month yet, so I'll have to look into that for you. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
We just purchased a 2011 Nox FWD 2LT, Mocha, with Two tone brown/black Leather, Roof, 18's and Power Liftgate. We paid $28,336, which was just under TMV ($28,357). I would rate our overall experience a 6 out of 10, however, not due to our dealer or salesman, whom we both liked and would recommend again, but due to the industry practice known as "not giving a sh*t about what the customer ... I did try the Build Your Own tool on the Chevrolet website. That is how I figured out what make and model vehicle I finally decided to buy. So.... the motivation to make up problems about the Equinox is.... ? I don't believe everything I read, but not sure this is the place that aspiring fiction writers would be hanging out... Unless you think it's Ford or Honda's social media team, spreading lies? lol
Really? You have to ask? Everything on the Internet is real and no one is trying to persuade others about products through elaborate stories? Ok then, my faith in humanity has been restored. Thanks for that, I suppose I was becoming jaded :) I'm looking forward to hearing the results from the customer service help - seriously.
Why would someone take the time to make up a fake problem about their vehicle? Seems like there are plenty of real problems out there, to keep anyone busy...
I don't recall seeing any posts where someone's problem was unresolved because GM Cust Svc. got involved. Probably most issues are fake, so when customer service asks for the information, the complainers run and hide. Not saying this is true in all cases! Certainly some cases are valid. It would be nice to have some follow up though, so we could sift through what's real and what's fake.
Was wondering, only posts I see here from GMCustSvc are requests for VIN and contact info. What do you actually do once you have that info. I don't recall seeing any posts where someone's problem was resolved because GM Cust Svc. got involved.
Hi, I have a 2010 Nox 4cy 25,00 miles. Have not had any engine knock, but engine is noisy. What is the "body flexing" Please explain. Thanks
ronwel, Can you please email me your contact information (including a good number to reach you), VIN, current mileage, involved dealer, and a break down of what you are/ have experienced (I understand this is repetitive its just to make it a little easier for me to get the ball rolling). After MANY days in the shop, GM today will be providing me with a full loan refund after determining that my BRAND NEW (and beautiful I might add) 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX had officially been deemed a "lemon". Hi Christina, Yes...I have mentioned this issue to my dealership several times. Each time they tell me that this is a normal sound for a direct injection engine. I'm one of those people who read the owners manual from front to back...and I have even used GM's recommended "Top Tier" gas...and my car still pings. My bigger concern is how my car wants to stall when I have it in ECO ... Read More
ronwel, Have you spoke with a dealer about this? Here is what the owners manual states: "Use regular unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 87 or higher. If this occurs, use a gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher as soon as possible. If heavy knocking ... Read More
When I first bought my car I was using 87 octane and would hear the pinging everytime I accelerated, and the pinging got worse if I was going up a hill. I swithced over to 89 octane, (as suggested by some posteres here) and I have not heard the pinging since. I've tried different brands of gas, and the pinging always comes back at 87 octane. Add me to the "pinging" ... Read More
87 octane does not result in pinging here. Considering the number of units sold, there's only a small percentage of owners claiming a problem with pinging. I stop every Nox I see, whether it's in a parking lot or a neighbor, to listen to the motor and ask the owner about this and I have not heard the sound or the complaint from anyone yet. Still looking, ....'er, listening. :)
I'm not sure about the "ping/thunk" thing, but the engine pinging is caused by them telling you that you can use 87 octane gas, when really you can't. Their spark timing is too agressive for 87 octane but they did it to help improve fuel mileage. There are two solutions: use 89 octane or higher, or there is a computer update that changes the spark timing. But you also lose 1-2 ... Read More

Well, its been over 2 weeks and my new battery hasn't arrived. Just been getting automated phonecalls telling me it is on backorder. Also, I'm being quoted a "lease tax rate"of 7.25%, is that standard? Plus on top of that I get killed with an 8% usage tax for the city of Chicago which I understand is non negotiable. Just to add a little info. Todays vehicles tend to use power from battery even when turned off. Extended periods of not running them and battery will lose its charge. Should be able to go 10 days though, unless the one time you did start it it was very cold and it only ran a few minutes .
Thanks Ray80! We think you are right because the Hazard lights don't work either.

If the dealer keeps the rebate you would have to sign an authorization in which you consent to the dealer getting the $1500. Call Chevrolet customer service Monday thru Friday and they can explain the program. You could also call another Chevy dealer and speak to a salesman.
