  There is a whole lot of totally outdated material on the Web concerning the XLS Cadillac. The DTS will still be built for 2011. Does anybody have the facts on the XLS? Will it be built in 2011 as a 2012? Will it be offered sometime in 2011? What is the status of this car????

  I'm really sympathetic to your problems and hope you will be provided with a new car. May I suggest that as a part of your efforts you write to the President of the Cadillac division outlining the problems you've mentioned in your post, if that doesn't get results write directly to the president of G.M.   I own both a 2005 Town Car and A 2006 DTS. No doubt that for me the Town Car is the better choice, It doesn't have that many high tec features as DTS but is much more reliable, feels like a luxury car (DTS fells more like a performance sedan).   I purchased a 2006 DTS, new, left over inventory. Cadillac records confirmed this, I have a 4 year 50,000 new car warranty also confirmed by Cadillac,ending in early 2011. Am suspecting that the car was delivered new with the defect in the center on trunk lid brake light, there are no visible cracks or stress marks on the red plastic housing just about three bulbs that don't light when brake pedal ...   Yes, your reply makes sense. I have ordered the part through the dealership and will see when they get back to me on it. Have also put a record of the defect with Cadillac via a case number.   Thanks to everybody who responded. I'll get a 2007 in 2008 and will look for a Luxury II or III -a lease return and not a rental car if I can avoid it.
