Chrysler Dealerships Closing Alpha

As part of its Chapter 11 restructuring process, Chrysler has cut its franchise agreements with 789 of its dealerships on June 9th. This doesn't necessarily mean that these dealerships will close for good. Losing a franchise agreement means that a dealer can no longer sell that automaker's vehicles as new, with a factory backed warranty. These dealerships still have the option of selling another brand, remaining in business as independent car lots or auto repair facilities. Any remaining new inventory on the affected car lots will be redistributed — much of it sold at auction.
