Jobs, Schmobs. Anytime any industry tails off, the people get other work. Americans adapt. Solar and Wind are not unreliable at all, when placed in the correct locations. " I only understand HALF of that......How is getting "negative benefits" a smart thing?
Drove through a wind/sand storm on I-8 west of Yuma on the way to SD, so went to the closest dealer to replace my air filter. While there I priced the 2011 Tourings and they want MSRP with no add on fees other than TTL. They would go $1,500.00 under invoice in the 2010 Touring, or in lieu you could get 1.9% or 2.9% financing. They even had a brochure for the 2011, which my home dealer couldn't seem to find.
Driveing south on hwy395, 50/60 miles north of Reno,Nv.my camry died going downhill. Was in cruise control @65mph. Pulled over, stopped, put tranny in Park. Started engine, all was nornal. Got back on freeway, on downhill side of next hill engine died. This time I put tranny in netural & started engine. Again all was normal so back to 65mph & set cruise. This happened TWO more times. FOUR times total.FACTS: on freeway, road was straight, downhill grades(1 to 3 miles) gas gauge wasbetween 1/2 & 1/4 ,Temp. 103F, After 2nd time, turned off ac ,radio & lights. After 4th time, turned off cruise ,Called Reno Toyota, advised them I was coming in & drove about 30 miles to Reno Toyota without any problems.RenoToyota service report states they performed Diag. No codes storedPerformed health check, all within spec. Service person suggested I drive the car to destination &do not use cruise control.Mileage in Reno 2,929 miles.Arrived in Yuma,Az. No problems as I did not use cruise control. Went to Yuma Toyota. They ran Diag. Same as Reno. Yuma Toyota cannot road test with similar conditions as everything is desert. Could fuel cut tech.be the problem? And if so how do I get it fixed? Would really like (wwest) comments as well as any others. Thanks rdc3434
We are looking to tow a small pop-up camper with a 2009 Forester 2.5X with manual transmission. We've never towed before so want to be completely safe for ourselves and everyone else on the road! 2 Pop-ups we had in mind are new Colemans with breaks. One is the Sedona with an unloaded vehicle weight of 1470 lbs and unloaded tongue weight of 190 lbs. It is the smaller of the two and is an 8 foot box. The second is the Yuma with an unloaded vehicle weight of 1645 lbs and unloaded tongue weight of 165 lbs and it is a 10 foot box. Questions: First, is this a "reasonable" weight to tow? We are only two people, used to primitive tent camping, will not be adding much more to the camper weight. (Maybe 300 pounds?) Why is the tongue weight more on the smaller camper? After adding the propane tank and battery, do we just try to adjust by packing more at the back end of this camper? I believe the maximum tongue weight is 200 lbs with a class 2 hitch? While the bigger camper is only 175 lbs more, it is our preference. How will the added 2 ft in the box length impact the tow driving? More chance for sway? Thanks for any replies.
The fact is that man's progress and use of fossil fuels has extended the lifespan of people in the developed countries. I am reading EMPIRE OF THE CZAR by Marquis De Custine right now. He is commenting on how much wood the aristocracy burns in one winter to keep those huge palaces warm in Petersburg. He believes the forests of Russia will all be gone in a short time with that kind of usage. The year is 1825. Many parts of the world were using coal for heat in prehistoric times. we still have 100s of years of coal supply left. It seems each new generation comes up with something that will be our demise. Many of the same AGW people predicted the end of the oil supply before now. My question is why do these people spend so much time worrying about such things? Adaptation to whatever your circumstances is a much better way to live. If you want to ride a bike or put up solar panels that is good. Just don't spend so much time, money and energy, stirring up fear in the masses of the unknown. Fear mongers, and that is exactly what Al Gore and the AGW Cult are, produce NOTHING. They are leeches on our society. When they sort out all the liars in the GW scam, they should be prosecuted and sent to prison. Preferably a hot one like the Yuma prison.
