You said that you didn't want to move to a climate that was too cold. Though we would love to have you in North Carolina, I do need to warn you. We have the mountains, the Piedmont, and the coastal regions. I live in the Piedmont (middle fo the state). The last three winters have been pretty cold between December and March. We had an unseasonably cool temperature of 39 today for a high. Naturally, the mountains would be out of the question for you. If you're moving here and still wish to stay warm, I would recommend some location in the Coastal Plain. Places like Wilmington, Southport, Elizabeth City, Morehead City, Ocean Isle, Sunset Beach, etc. are nice---but pricey for real estate. Raleigh, Chapel Hill---but NOT Durham are also nice. Chapel Hill real estate is out of the question. There's no room left for building, and resales are out of the roof because of the high demand. The Pinehurst/Southern Pines area where we live is very nice, but can get pricey depending on what you want. We live in a small village outside of Pinehurst. There are now 79 houses for sale in the village, ranging from $1.4 million to $325,000. These old people die at the drop of a hat, and their children put the houses on the market. Still, there are some good deals to be made. We're getting some military traffic because we are only 45 minutes from Fort Bragg. The officers don't want to live in Fayetteville---home to Fort Bragg. It's a rough town with a poor school system. We have a pretty good school system here---though i wouldn't recommend any public school in this country today. That's another story and just my opinion based on personal work experiences. If I can assist you and stickguy in any way, don't hesitate to let me know. We live only an hour from Raleigh and ninety minutes from Greensboro. North Carolina is a pretty state, no matter where you decide to live. Richard

Regarding earthquakes, we have the Quatemary Fault in Eastern North Carolina. It runs near Wilmington where the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant is located. Heaven help us if the fault ever becomes active. Most of our minor earthquakes (Level 5's) have been in the Western part of the state...none since the 1970's. Japan is so devastated---just no where for most people to go. I can't begin to imagine the rebuilding process---time, labor, materials, human placement, and money. It will require many years and much help from others. They are a resourceful people and will work hard to rebuild. Still, it will need to be a global effort. Basically, the civilized world is generous at times like these. The economic impact on the United States and other Western countries remains to be seen. Some good often comes from tragedy. Hopefully, this would make America more resourcesful at home. We are a smart population that needs to be more pro-active in producing our own products and services. Such results would benefit both ourselves and others around the world. Still, with China and Arab countries in the mix, it is a difficult thing to predict. Right now, Japan needs help from all sources. Richard

Andre, the Chevette was not built in Japan, rather here in the good old USA. It was built at the Wilmington Assembly Plant in Wilmington, DE, and at the Lakewood Assembly Plant in Atlanta, GA. It was also built in Brazil, but never in Japan by Isuzu. It was NOT an Isuzu. In fact, the design was GM UK, aka Vauxhall.

Re: Radio draining the battery [greatcars] by lunastar27 on Thu Oct 28 05:44:51 PDT 2010

I've read and I agree with yawl that the 2005 Hyundai Tucson Radio drains batteries dead, so I had the dealership mechanic remove my radio fuse, and two mechanics at the Wilmington Dealership told me that the Hyundai's Radios are terrible because they cause the drainage problems, so people just replace them because there are no good! So if by removing the radio fuse stops the problem wahooo, if not then back I go to Herb Chambers or Bill Dube Hyundai and fight again with both of them, it stinks that you have to holler and scream to make a point with these two dealerships, and my car is still under warranty and yet when I need service I get pushed aside, I have an electrical drainage problem and neither one wants to do the work on the car, so what good is a warranty when the dealership won't do the work on it? C'mon I bought the damn car because I liked the features and I felt secure and safe, but now I'm not so sure anymore! and winter is coming and I've got this problem so everyday even weekends I have to start the car up so it won't die on me! that sucks!

I had a 94 Q45t and had a similar problem re not starting when everything else worked. - I replaced the starter relays. - There are two relays and are mounted on the firewall on the passenger side. I believe one of the relays is for the primary starter circuit and the second one is for the ignition circuit. - Your Infiniti dealer should have them either in stock or be able to readily order for you. - Good luck.
