Comcast had the same box we have now for the longest time. We have two Comcast DVR's. I can't remember the model numbers but the old one is silver and didn't have nearly the recording space the new one (all black) has. When I went to pick up the second one, I was just asking if they had any newer models with HDMI. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it also had a huge hard drive... much more room to record things.

Some friends and I went down to the Masters in 2007. The golf course itself was gorgeous but I was very surprised at how seedy the overall area around the golf course was. We were not impressed by the city of Augusta, at least the parts that we saw. I moved back to the Burgh in ’97 so it might be a little worse now than I remember it. I’m familiar with the stretch of Washington Road that Augusta National is off of and that was not the best projection for the city back then either. If you head out towards Martinez and further down the road into Evans things got a lot better. Still, the city should do something about the front porch to Augusta National. I know this will be hard for people to believe but when I went down there in April ’92 a friend of mine offered me a free ticket to the final day of the Masters that he had come by from the company where we worked. Since I am not a golfer I said, “thanks for offering but give it to a golfer, they’d appreciate it a lot more than me, but I’ll join you for dinner afterwards”. Mrs. jmonroe had returned home after a week of house hunting the first week of April of that year and when I told her about the chance to go to the Masters on the companies dime, a couple weeks later, and I backed out, she said, “well, that was a nice thing to do but I guess you know everybody will now know for sure that you’re nuts don’t you”? jmonroe

WASHINGTON (AP) — April was a historic month for wild weather in the United States, and it wasn't just the killer tornado outbreak that set records, according to scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. April included an odd mix of downpours, droughts and wildfires. Six states — Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia — set records for the wettest April since 1895. Kentucky, for example, got nearly a foot of rain, which was more than three times its normal for the month, NOAA reported. U.S. scientists also looked for the fingerprints of global warming and La Nina on last month's deadly tornadoes, but couldn't find evidence to blame those oft-cited weather phenomena. NOAA research meteorologist Martin Hoerling tracked three major factors that go into tornadoes — air instability, wind shear and water vapor — and found no long-term trends that point to either climate change or La Nina. That doesn't mean those factors aren't to blame, but Hoerling couldn't show it, he said. PS So CA still well below normal by about 10 degrees. Barely made it to 55 degrees yesterday. I demand a reduction in taxes. The state is not providing the perfect weather we pay for.
