my roomates chrysler did something very similar. it checked all the fuses (there may be two or three different fuse boxes), but found that it was a bad connection at the battery terminal. it got corroded with a green oxidized coating. the green stuff doesn't conduct electricity. hope that helps.
Greetings from Westminster. I have a 3 sedan and can answer a couple of your questions. First, the biggest difference between the Civic Si and 3 is the size. The 3 is much larger. The Civic is a two door hatchback while the 3 is a 4 door hatch. If you will have anymore than 2 people in the car ever I would suggest the 3. Second is the snow. While as you know Colorado has not gotten that much snow this year in the Denver area. When we have had snow I would say that the 3 has handled better than my previous car (Nissan 240sx with studs) with just the crappy stock all seasons it came with. The 3 is much heavier than the Civic so I would say that it should handle much better in the snow. As for the leather I have no idea as I could only afford a bare bones 3S. The radio is about average. I enjoy the sound that comes out of it. The problem everyone has with it is that it is nearly impossible to upgrade with anything other than Mazda parts. So if you plan to add an MP3 player or connect your Ipod you may want to talk to a dealer about it. I did not really compare the Civic as the reason I was getting a new car was that I now have a 6 month old and could not fit a car seat in the 240. Hope this helps Corey PS If you are looking for a decent deal with no haggling contact the internet sales manager at the Sill-Terhar Mazda off Wadsworth and the Turnpike. They charge 2% over invoice + 359 doc. So you can do the math to see how much they will charge.
I just bought a 3s sedan in Titanium Grey with no additional options. I paid 2% over invoice plus $359. So it came out to about 675 over invoice. But I spent a total of about an hour at the dealership not including all the financing and show time. I paid almost exactly what the Edumnds TMV is. It was not the greatest of deals but I was not looking for that. I just wanted a decent price without having to spend all day at the dealership. I also got the College grad rebate and the $250 coupon. So all said and done I paid less than 16K. If any one is in the Denver area and looking for a Mazda and wants a decent deal with no hassle go to Sill-Tehar at Wadsworth and the turnpike. Corey
I'm assuming this will probably generate more conversation/debate, for the better. GM obviously makes up for it's short comings. I am completely baffled about how it makes it's profits. Now, i don't have the numbers any more, or the book. I'm sure someone on here can find out something, but according to my political science book, GM brings in more money and profit then some nations entire GNP and GDP. Not all these countries are in a state of poverty. Spain, Canada, and some more countries that i was surprised to see are examples of some of the nations that were out preformed by GM. Ford was also pretty high on the list. If my memory serves me correctly, GM was like within the top 25. I'll get the reference to conform this, all I really remember is the books' student companion web site "wadsworth.com". Although I'm not sure how helpful it will be without the book, check it out if you want. Anyway, what is it that GM, and Ford too for that matter, does that the foreign auto makers must not know about that makes them sooo much more profit then the others? According to the numbers presented earlier in post 1711, it world appear as if GM is struggling, but in dollars and in the actual market, it seems that GM has a HUGE influence in the overall industry.
