Yes it impacts our trucking costs. It is also a deterrent to buying a diesel vehicle when diesel costs are higher than gas. As I pointed out it is bad public policy in many ways. It does not hurt cross country truckers as they can fill in AZ and do what needs to be done in CA and get back to cheaper fuel. It only hurts our economy. If we taxed diesel on the US average, diesel would be cheaper than RUG in CA. Five other states almost tax as high as CALI. I don't see 10 cents per gallon as almost the same. I know you hate the truth. CARB and its cronies in Sacramento HATE Diesel cars. You have made no viable argument that refutes that. Only your opinion. The facts are much of the legislation against diesel in CA was put together by a PHD that falsified his degree. CARB Diesel Emissions Overestimated 340% So, heres how good the science behind Californias Global Warming Law AB32 probably is. The California Air Resources Board has beyond screwed-up their diesel regulations. Based upon grossly miscalculated pollution levels of only 340% over reality, which was used to create onerous regulations. Yes, you read right, 340%. Was this stupidity? Gross negligence? Gross incompetence? Outright fraud? All of the aforementioned? Read and decide for yourself. Do they care about the people and businesses of California? Probably not. They appear to love spending other peoples money on non-existent problems because its really all about control and forcing you to live their greentard lifestyle, while increasing the size of their bureaucracy, regardless if its based in reality or not. http://co2insanity.com/2010/10/07/carb-diesel-emissions-overestimated-340/

Re: 08 LS460 in S.F. Bay Area [mling1126] by topgun7 on Fri Dec 26 12:06:53 PST 2008

I already bought it on 12/5 or so and I am taking my car in for 1000 miles service. Had the dreaded wind noise problem but hopefully the triangle fix will help. Still love the car.... I posted my deal in the lease forum... I got the car from Lexus Sacramento. Their internet guy is really easy to deal with.. Fremont Lexus (Magnessum?? sp?) matched the deal with a different color combo.. There is no white/ivory with ML/NAV in bay area anymore.. But there is one dark gray with light gray interior with ML/Nav in the bay area. And Lex Sac has a couple red/ivory combo (one with ML/NAV but rear seat package and the other one with only Nav and no ML).. Just take my number and sent out email to see if anyone want to match and what color combo is out there now... do it quick, don't know when the 6000 rebate expire...

Sorento I4 LX 2WD lease parameters by apson on Wed Apr 20 14:03:42 PDT 2011

I was just quoted by Kia of Elk Grove (Sacramento, CA region) with a money factor of .00058 and a residual value of 50% along with the $1500 cash incentive for the I4 LX 2WD in Titanium Silver. Dealer says won't go below MSRP because there are only two of this color in this trim within 100 miles. Amounted to $3k due at signing and $289/mo. Kia.com has this model (#72222) special at $2999 down, $239/mo. The only way I can see one achieving this monthly price is if you qualify for $1k bonus cash (on top of $1500 incentive) and get the dealer to come down on selling price. In California, with 8.125% sales tax I came up with this: MSRP: $23590 - Cash Incentive of $1500: $22090 Due at signing: $2999 (fees + cap reduction) (Cap reduction: $2150) Money Factor: .00058 Residual: 50% Sales Tax 8.125% ($897.41 I think?) Monthly: $276.80 I'm not sure where lic/doc fees are going to go. This would be added to the selling price or subtracted from the cap reduction, right? "Due at signing" is $2999 which includes fees leaving you with a cap reduction of $2150 Dealer quoted me $2999 at signing and $289/mo. Would feel a lot better for a 2WD LX at $260.

'11 RDX FWD Base N. Cali by drr98 on Wed Mar 30 21:26:10 PDT 2011

With Roof Rack Installed ($667MSRP) $30,500 - sales price $33705.31 - w/tax, reg, lic, transfer, titling, Ca tire, doc prep & dmv e filing fees... Worked with the two Internet guys at Niello Acura in Sacramento. Both of these men made it all so easy. Emailed what I wanted. Got a quote back. A few back and forths, a test drive and only 1 hour of office time. Found setting the c/c and varying gears (3,4,5,4,3...) using s mode is a great way to allow you to varying rpm (for proper break-in) while keeping the same speed while crusing the hiway. We are very happy with the RDX and the great price we got. But for as long as I've been following along here I never saw any RDX complaints aside from the firm ride. Well I have two items that I want to complain about. 1 - The hand brake has gone missing. What is that thing hitting my left foot when I'm streching my toes? (Kind of a big thing to me, no one else bothered by this?) 2 - Hood prop vs gas struts. (kind of minor)

Re: On/Off Road Tire for Adven. Pkg. [new_jeepie] by ethaskell on Wed Mar 30 11:48:38 PDT 2011

The plot "sickens". Last Tuesday, 3/22/11, I was called in responce to my survey comments, and after a lengthy interview was instructed that I would receive an e-mail today, Wednesday, 3/30/11, authorizing me to purchase the proper tires, and to submit documented proof within seven days for a full refund of my costs. I was pleased, amazed, but suspicious. Today this same rep called to tell me that he had discussed this situation with the dealer, & others, and that he could not go against "the decision" not to adjust this situation. He did offer me an extended vehicle warranty, an offer I refused, as it has no value to me. I don't know, does Chrysler hate it's customer base. Does Fiat see this as some sort of tax deduction. It sure isn't the way to conduct business on an ethical level and build a loyal customer base. I am done with trying to convince Chrysler to do the right thing. I am going to contact the California Attorney Genreals office to see if they have any interest in pursuing this as a "bait and switch" violation. Also, going to write my elected representatives in Sacramento and Washington to see if they have any interest. (Pobably doubtfull.) Also, I will be ready to express my frustration to one and all - I'll be a real Johny One note (till my wife tells me to cool it. :-) ). Yes, I know I can replace the tires for about a thousand dollars, and be done with it. But "they" have taken our tax dollars to save their ass, promised us a better business experience, and still playing the same old game. I am totally P.O.'d with this whole issue. Love the car, hate the company. 8-/
