I am thankful my parents moved out of Los Angeles in the late 1950s. It may have added a few years to my life. I know when I would go to visit my grandmother I could barely breath the air was so bad. Pasadena was covered with a brown nasty haze. Cities in general are not healthy on so many levels. The air we breath today could be the cause of a problem 20 years from now. I would think where you are now is pretty clean. Or is there a lot of mining in the UP?
Thanks much! I looked closer at Mazda's photo and now I understand. For posting photos you can upload the photo to your carspace photo album and link to it. Don't do it for this one, as I am edified. Tnx again!
WOW! How do you get 35k in 6 mo? Anyway, I've been saying for some time that the shocks the factory puts on the 5 are up to the challenge. I would recommend anybody that likes the car and intends to keep it to go and get some top of the line shocks. I bought the car fully aware of the issue. The tires quality has been blamed many times on this forum for a lot of things and there are reports that new tires from a different manufacturer took care of the problems. At 35k it's time for new rubber. It is irrelevant now if the shocks killed your tires, or the tires were cheap to begin with. I have my 5 for 16 mo now and it has 15k. The tires are at 50%. We drive it hard (when we do), loaded up and fast, so I'm not complaining, again, I anticipated the problem. Sorry for the dealer experience. I've found the same attitude with other brands, too. It's a systemic problem.
Maybe this is where the moisture came from that initiated all those snow storms this winter: This ice not melting ITSELF The Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are melting very very quickly. The ice mass is melting at an accelerating pace… making it a leading source of sea level rise. Eric Rignot, of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, said in a statement: “That ice sheets will dominate future sea level rise is not surprising — they hold a lot more ice mass than mountain glaciers. What is surprising is this increased contribution by the ice sheets is already happening. If present trends continue, sea level is likely to be significantly higher than levels projected by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007. Our study helps reduce uncertainties in near-term projections of sea level rise.” The study will be published soon in Geophysical Research Letters. The results were based on two independent measurements, which included 18 years of satellite and modeling data taken from both regions. The numbers tell the story: the ice loss is happening very quickly. The Greenland ice sheets lost mass faster than the previous year by 21.9 gigatonnes a year. And the loss seen in Antarctica was on average 14.5 gigatonnes a year, compared to the previous year. As far as predicting ice loss in the future, at least one thing is for sure… it’s uncertain. At this rate though, considering the impact from other factors, the total sea level rise could be as high as 32 centimeters by 2050. Better make a long-term plan to sell off that coastal real estate, starting in about 2045.
That's called home-court advantages I remember that US soccer team played Mexico national team in Pasadena, CA. Who had home court advantage? Majority of the fans were pro-Mexico. Don't get me wrong. I love this country; that's why I immigrated here. But sometime I don't like to see some people here not showing their appreciation to this country as they should be. I understand the freedom of choosing whatever you like is part of the foundation which builds this country strong. But overly love affair with the imported goods will eventually come to bite you as it is already happening.
