I don't understand the permanent damage reports. The reason the Mississippi Delta between Memphis and Natchez is so fertile is because of periodic river flooding. Ditto the Nile. Meanwhile the Corps keeps opening and closing parts of the river; haven't heard anything, but some talking head is sure to connect that with increased gas prices.
It's the difference between water slowing flowing over the levee.... and creating a gusher by blowing a hole in it... In the latter case, they are saying that it will blow all the soil off... just like the hose of a power washer... On the plus side, the gardens near the river in Memphis should be especially fertile, next year... :(
The only wreck I ever had was in a Datsun wagon back in the late 70's in my Memphis years. I pulled out of a BBQ joint going left on a four lane and hit a car in the fender. Ruined my dinner. The car was a nice pristine Cadillac driven by a woman toting her grandkids somewhere. I was around 27 at the time, and I've tried to avoid unprotected left turns ever since, especially on busier streets.
Hot rod Caddys. I convoyed with a BMW owner one time from Memphis up to Cape Girardeau MO on the Interstate. I led the way in a Datsun wagon. He got a speeding ticket. Wagons are sleepers. ;)
Just received the above email quote from a local dealer in Memphis, TN. The only other dealer in town offered $30,200 via Internet too. Is $29800 a good enough price to bite? The special financing is applicable too. Should I continue to bargain? how much should I take off? Thanks for any suggestions!
