Isn't that the way you guys in Joisey pronounce it? Awww, good night Nuyse, Joisey. EVERYBODY hates Joisey! But somebody's gotta live there! Sorry, had to throw an Archie Bunker reference in there! :P I had a good friend who lived in Jersey, near Asbury Park. For all the ragging that Jersey gets, I gotta say, I didn't see it. Dear, sweet people, no skylines filled with refineries, etc. And I say "had" because he recently passed away from cancer, at the way-to-young age of 44. Hell, I have cars that are older than that! It just ain't right.
A moive? :P Sorry. Couldn't resist. Yeah, I remember a couple of trips where I didn't know I was going until maybe 20 minutes before taking off. This is from NW Jersey. One day an old high school classmate called and asked if I was doing anything and I said no. He say "you want to go up to Connecticut?" Maybe four hour trip and stayed a couple of days. Really nice time. Another time my brother decided he was hitching across the country. This scared my mom. My dad wakes me up offering to pay all costs to get him to Michigan where he knew someone so mom would worry less. This was fine. Such trips are how I devloped my love of the Great Lakes and the UP.
BMW deals[sic] are like Hyundai dealers except they have fancier coffee machines. Really? My BMW dealer is first rate- to the point that my wife refuses to consider any other brand. She's taken it to them a couple of times(with no appointment) when the tire pressure warning illuminated and both times they checked it out and repaired the tire in under an hour. Once I asked for a transmission software update for her X3; it was already supposed to be online but it turned out that BMW NA had delayed rolling it out. So instead of simply saying "Sorry." my dealer shipped the TCU Next Day Air to BMW NA in New Jersey to get it flashed. Meanwhile, they gave me an X3 3.0 M Sport for an additional three days. Yeah, I suppose the only difference is the coffee maker...
Richard, sorry about your wife's run in with the "law". She broke the #1 rule of a traffic stop, which is to be nice. Hopefully, you can get it reduced to a no-point violation and just pay the fine so your insurance premiums don't go up.
Has anyone ever used a cable card instead of a cable box? I'd love to find a new TV that had that slot so I wouldn't have to have a cable box below it. When I first got my 50" Sony cable cards were a new "thing". I too wanted it, as I really didn't want to make room for the cable box. Well, Comcast tried to steer me away saying about how I wouldn't get the on screen guide, "on demand" etc. I pretty much demanded it. They sent a tech out and then another and then another..... they could never get it to work. Needless to say, I ended up with an HD DVR and I think I ended up with a month or two free service from all the trouble. If I am not mistaken, I don't think cable card slots are even being included in the newer sets.
