Well he apparently "got a deposit" on it, which could be wishful thinking, but it IS a Westy unlike no other. It's not "over the top", it's in orbit. Really you'd have to price it against highly customized hot rods or some such. It's no longer the car that the factory built. I guess it's no worse than a stretch Hummer or some Maybach that will depreciate like a cinder block dropped off a bridge. Still, that's a lot of motel bills you have to "save" to pay for this baby! Well, at least you won't ever get a speeding ticket. Is the new owner goin' 4-wheelin'? Why do I think not? You have to remember, these Synchro Westys aren't cars---they are a CHURCH that you belong to. ISETTAS -- their value has gone down now that they are no longer the flavor of the month with the big bucks set who wanted something cute for the Hampton summer house---but still, you could pull $40K at the right auction (down from $60K!!)
I have no theory. Just thinking about reality. I would like to take a road trip around the USA. Staying in motels is becoming less attractive with this Bed Bug Bubble. I looked at the hotel we stayed in Indiana last fall. The Hampton Inn across the street has bed bug infestation. A friend here is an exterminator. He has traveled to San Francisco to do Bed Bug jobs. They are very difficult to get rid of. Best bet is toss out your mattress. The chemicals we have today are nearly useless to get rid of pests. I relate it to EPA/CARB emissions. They have reached the point of diminishing returns. We have done the same with pesticides. The Ag people are all over San Diego finding Med Fly infestations. If we are going to continue to allow imports of products that carry pests, we need to get tougher chemicals such as DDT to protect US.
might see you around town,... I live in hampton and work in Newport News . Have 2011 SE-predawn gray color. :)

The Panamera doesn't do it for me. It looks like a frog. A week ago, I would have agreed with you. Then I saw one in the Hamptons (always a great place for car-watching) on Saturday & was struck by its presence. It looks much better in the metal than it does in photos.
