You said that you didn't want to move to a climate that was too cold. Though we would love to have you in North Carolina, I do need to warn you. We have the mountains, the Piedmont, and the coastal regions. I live in the Piedmont (middle fo the state). The last three winters have been pretty cold between December and March. We had an unseasonably cool temperature of 39 today for a high. Naturally, the mountains would be out of the question for you. If you're moving here and still wish to stay warm, I would recommend some location in the Coastal Plain. Places like Wilmington, Southport, Elizabeth City, Morehead City, Ocean Isle, Sunset Beach, etc. are nice---but pricey for real estate. Raleigh, Chapel Hill---but NOT Durham are also nice. Chapel Hill real estate is out of the question. There's no room left for building, and resales are out of the roof because of the high demand. The Pinehurst/Southern Pines area where we live is very nice, but can get pricey depending on what you want. We live in a small village outside of Pinehurst. There are now 79 houses for sale in the village, ranging from $1.4 million to $325,000. These old people die at the drop of a hat, and their children put the houses on the market. Still, there are some good deals to be made. We're getting some military traffic because we are only 45 minutes from Fort Bragg. The officers don't want to live in Fayetteville---home to Fort Bragg. It's a rough town with a poor school system. We have a pretty good school system here---though i wouldn't recommend any public school in this country today. That's another story and just my opinion based on personal work experiences. If I can assist you and stickguy in any way, don't hesitate to let me know. We live only an hour from Raleigh and ninety minutes from Greensboro. North Carolina is a pretty state, no matter where you decide to live. Richard
agent dumped her large purse out on the counter, and then threw it all back in the purse. It is too bad your wife was treated this way. Your wife probably doesn't fit the profile of any terrorist known to man. Just imagine this poor lady at Calgary airport; CALGARY - The Calgary Airport Authority wants answers after an 82-year-old woman complained of a nightmarish security check at the Calgary International Airport. Elizabeth Strecker, who lost a breast to cancer, said she was asked by security last week if she was carrying any banned liquids, but didn't think she had to reveal she'd had a mastectomy. When an airport scanner detected her prosthesis, she said security staff felt she'd misled them and they subjected her to a patdown where she was touched "everywhere." Strecker said the worst part was being accused of lying to security. She called the experience humiliating and said she plans to seek an apology. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------ This is an 82 year old woman!!!!! It doesn't say but she had to be given a full body search. Then there is a lady who bought her husband a replica of a soldier while she was away in Europe. The customs people made her remove the toy gun because it was considered a weapon. She said, it is plastic, doesn't even have a hole in the barrel. They did allow her to take it to a store to purchase an envelope and she could mail it home separately. She did, and it eventually got home, and her husband was thrilled.
I'm in the process of strongly buying a 2002 Toyota Echo in another state...about 1100 miles from home. The car is located at a dealer. My question is; Is it possible to have the car shipped to my state? Or is their a "business" that helps out of state buyers get the car sent to them? I"m trying to avoid extra costs of flying, hotel, etc, . Then, if I fly out there, and the car is not what I thought, I would be out of money too. This will be my first internet car buying experience, and I need some advice please. Thanks! Elizabeth
Yikes! You saw a $311,660 automobile (200,000 British pounds). It is a British race car with a Volvo engine. It's top speed is 225 mph. The body is made in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and shipped back to England for completion. Production is limited to only 50 per year. The M600 that you saw was a 2009 model that was recently released for sale. Lee Noble began the company in 1999, but is no longer associated with it. He has branched out to make another prototype automobile. I can't believe that it was just sitting by itself in a sparsely populated parking lot. Surely, the owner had to be close by in order to keep an eye on it. No, I didn't just know this information. I researched it. Richard
Smart move. Why were we funding British Universities when our own are hurting for money? AGW is a dead monkey. NO MORE WASTING TAX DOLLARS ON IT. The snow was heavy even in Northern Argentina. In Santiago Del Estero, according to media reports, some areas experienced snow for the first time in living memory. In the province of Tucuman, some town saw snow for the first time since 1921 It even snowed in the Chaco of Bolivia, one of warmest areas of South America, where the local population never saw snow before. Classes were suspended in Bolivia for three days to prevent more cold related deaths Too cold for penguins Jun 17, 2010 2:27 PM | By Sapa Extreme cold, wind and heavy rain has killed 600 African penguin chicks on Bird island, a reserve located in Algoa Bay near Port Elizabeth, South Africa The 19-hectare island is administered by SA National Parks as part of the Addo Elephant National Park. "Penguin chicks started dying on Tuesday, when extremely cold weather, coupled with strong winds and heavy rainfall hit the Eastern Cape," SANParks regional communications manager Megan Taplin told Sapa. The number of chicks that had died had risen to 600 by Thursday morning. We had about a week of normal 90+ degree weather and now we are back down to about 10 degrees below normal. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying near perfect 80 degree days. All the record heat in Russia and the record cold in Africa, Australia and South America proves, is climate changes in both directions and man in his arrogance cannot do anything to change the weather. Most cannot even predict what the weather will be tomorrow consistently. How stupid to think they can tell what it will be in 100 years. We have been duped by a Crazed Sex Poodle.
