I think I've mentioned this before, but Bill Mitchell, VP of GM styling at the time, although born in Cleveland, grew up in my little hometown of Greenville, PA and was known to return on occasion.
I sympathize with the spouse issue. My first car was a 1963 Dodge Dart with a 3 speed H-on-the-column shifter. It was learn it or don't drive. When my wife and I were dating, I convinced her to get a stick Mustang just like mine so she could drive either car. Then I taught her. After that all our cars were stick up to the minivan (sounds familiar?). Now she drives a CX-7 and doesn't miss rowing her own. I tried to teach my eldest daughter stick on the G20, but it was a total failure. I finally had to punt- sell the G20 and get a CRV for her and her sister. On the plus side neither of them can drive my '05 Mazda6. Speaking of Mazda6, they too have eliminated stick on the upper trims. The last year for leather and stick was '09, so I'd be out of the market for anything newer.
Hi its_pford, Thank you for your insight on your buying experience. I live in Pittsburgh area and I am interested in buying a G25x. I have some questions for you 1. If I were to buy the car from Airport Infiniti in Cleveland, Ohio how do I get the vehicle registered in PA? Could you please throw some light on the registration process i.e. when one buys the car from another state. 2. Do you think the G25x's AWD helped you in the snow? is it worth the buy or shall i consider the rear wheel drive? 3. Are you happy with you car? I am considering a few other options and it would be great if you could share your experience with the car. Thanks a ton for your time.
I guess this goes back to your question of why people would pay more for a used car than a new one. This same dealership, Ganley, is advertising several used 2011 Sonata GLSes, stripped (plastic wheel covers), for $19,500. Yet they offer new ones for $17,995. Hard to figure why anyone would buy those used cars. http://autos.cleveland.com/used_cars/style/all/hyundai_sonata_2011
Just looked in Today's Cleveland paper and 2011 Sonata GLS advertized for $17988, I think it's been selling at this price for a while now. There should be some negotiation room included included in that price.
