My blue ES 350 had hundreds of chips on the hood. I had Lexus of Carlsbad auto shop repaint it and within months there were hundreds more. I took it to an excellent independent auto body shop and had it repainted at my own expense. Within 2 weeks there were chips already forming. I went back to the shop and he pointed out there were also a myriad of chips in my windshield and in the paint of my rear view mirrors. He feels that the design of the car with the front dipping down allows for debris to come up and chip the paint and other parts of the car. I'd be glad to join in a class action lawsuit also. I had bought a 2006 ES 350 and had a loud thunk sound at various times. After taking it to the dealership many times, they finally admitted they could not fix it. The head mechanic said that most of the 2006 ES 350s had this problem. So I had to buy a newer car, the one I have now, a 2007 ES 350, which was not in my budget. And now I have the paint problem. I had a 1995 Lexus for 14 years and had no problems whatsoever. That is why I spent the money to buy another Lexus, and I have nothing but problems!!!
No I haven't. Not opposed though. Hoehn is only about 35 miles from me in Carlsbad. My thinking is any 2010's left you should be able to get a pretty good deal on. Do you have any personal experience with the SD dealers?
hello norman have you verified the freshness of your remote batteries? they hint at being near dead with the better performance when cool. they are the coin type batteries. your keyless entry module is directly on top of the dash, under the plastic valance cover, in the center windshield area next to the solar eye sensor. [if equipped] those can get cooked. I have a 94 vision tsi I bought in july 2010. there is a procedure for checking this system. let me know about the batteries first. todd in carlsbad, ca. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=412486&highlight=middie
Didn't end up getting the $2300 under invoice on 2010 sedan deal I talked about earlier...I had a noon appointment to buy it in Riverside but when I got there they said they sold it earlier that morning. Wasn't too happy about that, don't know if I was baited and switched or not, but they seemed extremely nice up there. Then they did me a favor by offering me $400 under invoice on a 2011...yeah right. Anyways, ended up getting the same car in a different color ultimately from Tustin Infiniti for $2k under invoice (again, 2010 sedan). They were very easy to work with, held the car until I got there late the next day, and had all the paperwork done, so I was in and out in no time. No high pressure to buy other stuff either, which was nice. I had a couple dealers offer me $1k under invoice on a 2011, but it sounds like you are doing better than that already. Some good deals that I passed on that might interest somebody else: Infiniti of Montclair has a Silver/Black Premium only G37 Sedan with $3000 OEM Chrome wheels added on. They were willing to do $2k under invoice and I am betting you could get the chrome wheels for only $1500 extra. So if you like the OEM chrome wheels, that might be a good deal for you. Talk to George King. Infiniti on Camelback in Arizona, had a Smokey Quartz/Premium only 2010 G37X they wanted to get rid of pretty badly. Really hard to find AWD in SoCal, but I was looking to get AWD, so I shopped a ways away. Anyways, if you want AWD, they will work you a great deal ($2k below or more). They also have two 2010 Anniversary Editions with Gray exterior and Red leather interior. They seemed quite anxious to get rid of those too, so if the red-leather is your thing and you wanted a loaded car, I bet you can work a really good deal with those guys. Talk to Casey Bruce. If you are want a white exterior/stone-interior, there seems to be plenty of 2010's around in that config, so you can likely get a great deal on that color combo. I know Kearny Mesa Infiniti had 3 of them in stock in those colors, so maybe the best deal can be had there. However, I found they were a less willing to negotiate than most dealers...they seemed to take offense that i was shopping their pricing against dealers in OC. They offered me $1800 under invoice, but a few days later when I said I would do that deal, they told me they weren't going to do that deal after all since I wasn't buying an extended service plan from them as well. Your mileage may vary. The guys at Hoehn Infiniti in Carlsbad were very easy to work with and offered me good pricing on 2011's, but I was looking for the extra savings of a 2010, which they had none. I found Santa Monica infiniti unwilling to deal at all...they had a config I liked, but were slow to email me back and would never budge below $1250 under invoice on a 2010...not really on par with what everybody else was doing. I'm not a great negotiator, so you may be able to do better.
Great Deal! Man, I live about 15 miles from Carlsbad and I Didnt even remember they had a Mazda Dealership. Congrats on the deal, and may the deals get better and better. Its a great car so far (I paid $16,200) From Browning Mazda in Tustin about 1 1/2 months ago and I thought I got a great deal! This car is huge in Europe and Canada, I think its like Ikea, good use of its limited room. yeah, its small compared to an Odyssey or Sienna, but the majority of people with 1 or even 2 kids dont need all that room, the Mazda 5 is a good 'tweener, and the Mazda 5 uses his limited room to make it seem more spacious that it is.
