I'm interested in buying a CX-9, have done research here and other sites and just recently test drove a Grand Touring. My question has to do with the Touring vs. the Grand Touring. In its review, Edmunds prefers the Touring because of the 18 inch tires over the 20 inch of the Grand Touring. I wonder what others think about the differences between the two trims and which they can recommend. Is the Grand Touring with the extra few thousand? I'm not particularly interested in a nav system. The only really important features for me are leather interior (which I believe both trims have), the Boise speaker system, sun/moon roof, separate climate controls for driver and passenger, keyless entry and heated seats. I'd appreciate any thoughts or comments. Thanks.
It was that way in Boise too, but no where else in Idaho afaik. Air quality problems (Boise is in an inversion prone valley like LA). And if your CEL was on, you needed to clear it and try again. $15 a year, although my guy always gave me a $2 discount. Nothing in this part of Michigan required.
My 2008 Eos with less than 30,000 miles started having serious transmission problems in February. During city driving, without warning the DSG would downshift into first gear and the instrument panel PRNDL would flash. The only solution was to stop, turn off the engine and restart. I took it to VW of Boise, who graciously gave me a 2011 Jetta loaner. After the service staff replaced the speed sensor in the tranny, which did not solve the problem, VWoA tech support told them to put in a new transmission. With the new 2011 DSG installed, it’s like driving a totally different car! No more jerky starts from signals/stop signs, and shifting between gears is seamless. All this was done on VWoA’s initiative; I didn’t have to take it back several times, whine or beg or even ask them to replace the transmission. I’m very impressed with VW of Boise and with the tech support from VWoA. I’ve had my Eos for 30 months now and no other problems at all. What a great car! :)
There can be other benefits. Do like Boise and put a couple of 5 lane one-way streets downtown and you divide up the city center and discourage walkers and shoppers. Put a trolley line in and development will be attracted to the trolley corridor. (Light Rail Attracts Greater Development) (Trainweb).
My in-laws around the corner could run shuttle for us, if it's not biking weather. It's really walkable too. One of my shops did the one way shuttle in Boise but they were incompetent. I got a ride from the Nissan dealer in Boise when I first moved there, and the van took someone so far out into the boonies, we were on gravel and houses were a couple of miles apart. Took about 45 minutes for me to get home; should have just hung around the waiting room that day. Andre, you're way ahead of me too.
