If you loathe speed traps, stay away from Bellevue Way or NE 8th!

Yeah, I was looking at the background plants and it sure does look local. Mercer Island is halfway between Seattle and Bellevue and it's an affulent area sittin gin the middle of Lake Washington served by one of our floating bridges. The "232" prefix is correct for Mercer Island but there is one too many digits in his phone number. I tried calling a couple of possible combinations but struck out. I suspect, it's a POS. And, fintail, I'll be TICKED if I found out you ran over there and bought it out from under me! I know you work 5 minutes away from M.I.

Yeah, crash at a lower speed, chances are much better you'll walk away. You aren't going to get killed in a crash at 5pm on a Monday on 405 in Bellevue either, you'll be lucky to crack the bumper cover I think a lot of demographic stuff comes into play with those rates too...I'm not surprised that some of those states have such high numbers. I just don't see speed enforcement strategies being an impact. If limits were all about safety, interstates wouldn't move at much more than 40-45 or so.

If my modern car was to somehow be written off, I'd love to find an 85 or so 300TD wagon, silver blue, sunroof, pristine...but good luck, and they are actually worth a bit in nice condition. Sometimes I think maybe I should get a slower car too...driving something as fast as the E55 can get frustrating when the average Bellevue Lexus driver merges onto a highway like they are driving a 240D automatic.

Re: Great Flex, Great Buy [suzque3] by twelveof13 on Tue Mar 08 20:45:50 PST 2011

I have the 2009 Flex Limited, with everything but the Video player and $800- 4cans of cola size fridge. It's the best car I've ever owned... and I've had Mercedez CLK 430, 2 BMW 530s', Saab900Turbo, Ford F150 & Ford Explorer, 1970 Mercedez 200SEL and 1973 Chevy Nova SS... I'm looking to trade my 2009 for a 2011 with the EcoBoost... Ford of Bellevue WA BEGGED me for my Flex so they could have it for Used car inventory, but they were JERKS about financing a new one... So I'm going Back to Santa Monica Ford in LA!!!!
